@missy and @rambo have assigned this weeks blog topic to be "What is you best advice?"
gah. This is definitely a hard one for me and I probably should have written on last week's topic instead (write about your pets) But alas, here I am giving you my partially unsolicited advice.
I suppose my best advice is advice that I give myself. When I'm dealing with my mental health issues, I often have to "self talk" myself out of incredibly anxious and depressed thoughts and feelings. Over the years, I've learned that telling myself bullshit like "it's okay" is useless. Mostly because at the time, it's not okay at all. Saying "it's okay" as I lose my breath and float out of my body in an anxious fit, feels like a huge lie. And I guess it is. So, my advice is - Don't fucking lie to yourself. Be honest with how you're feeling. Nothing gets better when you can't recognize your own shortcomings. And I'm not saying that you should wallow in your despair. I'm saying that you should recognize the situation, assess your options and seek out a solution. Ask yourself what you need to make it "okay."
