Tonight was....yech. I totally felt like a third wheel, and I didn't get a chance to talk to the one person I wanted to at all, due to one person dominating conversation. And the restaurant didn't serve alcohol, so I couldn't even entertain myself through drugs. I called it a night early, I couldn't handle anymore without booze. I may be beginning another "I hate...

OK, so according to the canada post web site it made it to the "usa" on dec. 19, so either they're being held up at the border or your post office workers are totally tired and a few days behind in the rush...darn. I hope they're okay, probably all lonely and tired and in need of a nice, hot meal. smile

Hey there, did you get my CD's yet? I'm so sorry they're taking so bloody long...

The metadata I've gathered from hosting the Mixed CD Swap has been so much fun...cool bits:

Only one person from outside the US participated.
Only one person from below the Mason-Dixon line participated.
22% all the people who participated are from California.
1/6th of all people who participated are from Washington.
Only 3 people on the Eastern Seaboard participated. One of them was me.
Did...

This looks like some sort of story problem; are we supposed to figure out how many people responded from this data? biggrin In that case 18 lucky losers with too much time on their hands (like me), right?
estrada:
I'm only in California for graduate school, darn it.

I'm still from Washington... oh wait, maybe I'm in the 1/6th or something.

So I was planning on getting up early this morning to brave the evil holiday crowds and do a little shopping. For myself, of course, I haven't even started to think about other people yet.
But it's 12 degrees outside. Twelve. And that's using those little American degrees, not those crazy big Canadian ones.
So I'll just sit here inside, where it's warm, and drink...

I'm stuck working on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
But, of course, not very many people fly on any of these days. So all the people at my checkpoint are going to do the holidays right.

So far we've only got Thanksgiving planned. I'm bringing in my microwave, someone's cooking the turkey...we're going to do the whole big...

I, for one, cannot wait for this November heat wave to end. Why, you ask? Because the airport turns off all air conditioning on October 15, and having thousands of people packed into a small space makes work uncomfortably warm.

About two weeks ago I bought an Ipod, and I've been listening to music everywhere I go. Yesterday, though, I left it at home, and...

I just finished reading Grant Morrisons "The Invisibles" for the first time since it came out.

I am separated from the universe only by what I have decided is me and and not-me.

I'm having second thoughts about getting a black tribal rose tattooed on my back. As a sigil it symbolizes my past and present well - do I want it to represent my future as well?

That's enough wierdness for me to ponder for a while.

Egads. I meant for that to be my next journal entry. Time to copy and paste.

So I needed to give my brother a little bit more credit than I have been. When I think of him, I think of him as he used to be: One year as a child he refused to wear any clothing that wasn't camoflage. My entire family was worried that he'd never make it into college, and at some points were worried that he wouldn't...

My little brother (he's 23) is coming to visit my tomorrow...We're two almost totally different people: He's engaged to be married next year, his idea of a good time is (seriously) cleaning the house and cooking a meal and dessert. His favorite things to shop for are kitchen gadgets. I'm not sure if he's ever appreciated anything artistic or philosophical in his life. Did I...

I think it's a good thing to wait and wait to get tattooed. I never wanted a tattoo until I read the little prince...and not the first time I read it, I didn't want a tat until about the 60th time I read it...I just couldn't resist. And that makes me willing to be i'll never regret it.

I hope the visit is going well. I have the same situation with my brother. Except only one us likes sports...

Interested in how it goes...

Oh, and I'd like to know more about Ben Stein's defense of Nixon.

Yesterday Ben Stein gave me his hotel key just before I X-Rayed his bags. He looks in person exactly the same as he does on TV. Sometimes my job is just surreal.

Coooll... did you know he was a speak writer for nixon?

Thank you for leaving a comment in my weblog. I had planned on wearing my SG shirt so any members could pick me out but fashion-wise that just didn't work out. I was alone, until i joined up with a pretty random trio of strangers, and i was up at the very very left hand side of the stage, actually touching it. It was great. My first club-based show, and a wonderful experience at that!

Just got home from the SG Boston meet. Regretful that I didn't bring my camera. Maybe I will update this thing after all.

I think the idea of a carved ring is just about the most romantic thing i've ever heard.

I've formed a strange new habit over the past few days while sitting in front of my computer: Crunching on raw pasta.
Linguine, campanelle, rotini...none of it's safe from my grinding jaws.
