Well, things in the world of me are usually always steady. I've been consumed with work and such, little else. But for those curious, here's a short list of a couple strange and grand things that have happened to me recently.
Last month, on Friday the 27th, I lost $300 dollars. I don't know how it happened or where exactly (though I expect it happened at work), but the next day, Saturday the 28th, I couldn't find it. I woke up, still wearing the jeans from the night before with the wallet still in my back pocket, was going to go to breakfast with a friend, checked my wallet the money should've been in, but it was gone. I was at work pretty much all day on Friday, aside from that I was at home and the only venturing out I did was to cash my paycheck and made two stops on the way home. So I still haven't paid rent and my landlord is a-callin'!
But then there's the good news.
Last Sunday, the 12th, a miracle happened. All month I'd been trying to find back ways into the Decemberists show after learning that the show was sold out. I'd forgotten to purchase tickets when they went on sale, as is usually the case, and they all got bought up too quickly. I asked around to see if any co-workers could get me on a guest list, or a pay list, all to no avail. On the day of the show, two tickets from a friend of mine became available, I purchased the tickets from him, and was able to go. Benni and I went, had a fantastic time, and after the show she went and worked her magic to get us to meet a few of the band members. Chris Funk (lead guitar/multi-instrumentalist) signed my Queen of Hearts after I gave him my Queen of Spades. Then Jenny Conlee came out and signed my Queen of Clubs, after which, we thumb-wrestled. She's a tiny little woman, and she totally kicked my ass. It was beautiful.
Also, I was very drunk. Basically it was the best night I've had in months. I love my friends, I love my co-workers. In that way, I'm in a very good situation.
