You know, I thought long and hard about what songs to pick to represent these gentlemen. Like Rebel ... first time I ever set eyes on that boy, he was 14 and homeless, wearing a dress and singing "Rebel, Rebel, you've torn your dress..." I was 19 and laughed my head off at him. I had to let him grow up a few years before I could hit that, but he was my best friend. I knew "People Who Died" had to go in there somewhere. Those are just the photos I have now and can still find. There were so many more tragic stories ... you are sober now, aren't you? I think I you might appreciate my pictorial more than the kiddies today, if that is the case. I'm still a damned pot head, what can I do? That's why I understand Fat Burger. You know what I left out for somebody on there? "White Punks On Dope" I'll leave you with that thought. And stop laughing!
have you heard of hem? i first caught a snippet of them on teh late, lamented show wonderfalls (now available on dvd---ha! fox, you fucked it up again).
here's what andrew bartlett said about hem and their first cd, rabbit songs on amazon:

on the left, we have frank zappa. and that's me on the right. we're freezing our asses off in a field behind wzmf, an underground radio station in menomonee falls (outside of milwaukee).

tonight, i will go to my home-group NA meeting to pick up my final 1.5 chip. then to a "milwaukee-style" fish fry in burbank. yeah--we'll see how that matches up to the real thing. remember, i lived in milwaukee for 15 years.

Thanks! I will be having an SG screening towards the end of the month, and details will be in my journal a little closer to the time, so you'd be more than welcome to join the party. I appreciate the interest and the note. Cheers!
Good to see you. Fyi: I'm not in recovery for anything myself, fortunately - but fully support my pals who are. Big congratulations to you for taking (and working) those steps - it's an amazingly difficult yet vitally important change to make. Much continued success!
i'm writing this today because we're headed up to the mountains early, spending the week in a little 65-year-old cabin we've had rented since last new year's day.
we won't be back until the day after christmas, except for popping down to an NA meeting christmas eve, so i can pick up my 1 & 1/2 year chip.
when you are 50, it is probably a smart thing to avoid mosh pits.
now i have a fractured foot. again.
on the other hand, i played craps with the boys from green day until 4 am. they left far wealthier than i; however, they each have bunch of SG stickers!
molly and i bought tickets to see green day perform their (punk) rock opera american idiot in its entirety at the joint in las vegas on tuesday, december 7. but now she's neck-deep in an o.t.s. (office of thrift supervision) inspection at her bank, and she's determined she can't get away, even for 1 night.
Gimme a call when you get to town if you want to hit a meeting. I go at noon.
702-461-9953. I have to work that night or I would have loved to have gone.
I once took my cat for a walk. She was afraid of the elevator, she hid under the seat in the car, making my dad afraid she would go under the pedals, then she was afraid of the grass, so promptly ran up a tree and refused to come down.
not a good choice for feedback,(i'm not that is) i do know i can love however...
your alias means balance... i think and this cloud will evaporate with the sunshine of your love
i am out of the loop with your world except that we are all in this together...
if you have learned that you have felt good "working steps" then i will bet you will continue to
stay safe
peace and love,
