thoughts as i fell asleep last night.

1. i read my boyfriend's favorite issue of 'transmetropolitan'...*spoilers to transmet #8 to follow* it was about a woman who freezes her head for safe keeping upon her death and is brought back into spider jerusalem's world after years of stasis. she is cast off by society and unable to adjust to the world around her. warren ellis...

It's tomorrow. No wings? Maybe they are invisible?

By the by, *Red* has been a great read too.

weekend had its ups and downs...went by *really* quick and somehow did not feel like a weekend.

i feel blessed, busy, accomplished, careless, and unbelievably anxious.

meaney:
my weekends are six days long. i'm serious. i mean, there's shit that i have to get done... but at my own pace... on my own level. six days. but... take a stab at how much money i have to pay to maintain such a lifestyle...

and they still go buy *really* quick.
meaney:
by, not buy. did you catch that? or has the attention span exceeded the two minute mark? it was easier to leave another comment than to edit the previous. i'm all about the easy way and instant gratification....

can i make it to thanksgiving? three days of quiet? no moving, no talking?

i really prefer to be happy.
caddok:
I'm an aithiest but when I'm stressed out I count my blessings and it makes me feel better. As a soulless shlump I have an amazing # of things to be thankful for.
Here's how I start my list:
1 - I woke up. Thats better than being dead so its a biggie.
2 - I wake up in a room. I have shelter. That's a biggie too.
3 - I get to eat every day.
4 - Every day is a sunny day. Almost cheating with that one as I live in AZ.
And the list goes on along those lines. Basicly I break it all down to the simple lesson we all learned watching Fight Club:
"Let that witch does not matter truely slide".
My little list reminds me of the difference between what I "WANT" and what I "NEED".

And if that doesn't help go get yourself a copy of "You are Worthless" by Dr. Oliver Pratt. If THAT doesn't make let you crack a smile and laugh at yourself a little nothing will.

Be Safe,

P.S. I once aske a college friend what he wanted to be when he grew up. "Happy." was all he said. That has since become my life motto. Its much easier to achive than becoming an AstronaughtBallerinaScientistPrincessMillionaire.
More rewarding too.
calvinbrookfield:
I have no clue what the question is, but I'm pretty sure the answer might be: "be thankful." Of course, "duck and cover" sounds like an answer too!

Actually, I dig Thanksgiving because the concept is simple... family gets together and eats. Nothing too odd or commercial like handing out candy, opening presents, or searching for eggs in the backyard (?!). Just meet up somewhere and have a meal.

for the first time in several weeks the spray of this morning's shower was once again mixed with tears. tears of anger, fear, hurt, frustration.

the quiet joy that has been sustaining me felt torn apart last night. ug.

The human psyche is a vicious internalized cocktail. You'd be surprised how banal the motivations can be for a passionate and sublime response, be it positive or negative. In plain English: I think the stress is getting to you. frown

I hope you're feeling better soon, chica. kiss kiss

i did end up going to see the matrix. whoo. the dialouge was so so bad. but the special effects were satsifying.

stuff i thought about while laying in bed last night:

1. television was strange and manipulative. first i watched 'queer eye', and in spite of myself, got really into it. it was the first time they have gotten a guy ready to propose to his girlfriend. and it was so fucking sweet, i almost lost it. i mean, anyone who knows me knows that i...

escottie:
what meaney said.

in the few times we've spoken here, you've been open and honest about your own feelings. and you've been caring of my feelings, too.

i think the depth of your emotions govern how willing you are to share them. introspection leads us to careful probing and evaluating and judging before we believe we have something valuable to give back.

and you DO have something valuable to give. the few things we've said have meant a great deal to me as an outsider here.
kiss ---i mean that, with all due respect to j.

it's november 10th! i have emerged into the light at the end of a month long tunnel! and i appear to be reasonably intact.

it was a busy busy weekend preparing and executing the arts group gala. it really went off without a hitch, the music, food, drinks, and entertainment were all great.
so, in that regard...success.

i would also call it a success in...

i would have come with all my artsy friends. i wouldn't have been able to do it sober, but i would have done it. let me know next time (unless you are anti-meaney... which i totally understand).

it warms my fucking heart to here you refer to your friends as a chosen family. it's so much better than when you had the best friend crisis. and perhaps, through hindsight, you can now see that you have too many real ones to have to choose one that is 'best'.

i need to feed my sarcastic appetite elsewhere.

thanks for being real.
tatum:
Goodness, well I hope December slows down for you! And yes, I do live rather close, well if you think about three hours is close wink

any thoughts on matrix revolutions? i am glad i saw it, and was fairly entertained, but came away disappointed.

i stayed up too late watching a movie on IFC last night...not sure of the name, but it was basically an early 30's something story about friendship. though i normally don't fall for plots of this nature, it drew me in this time. and made me long for close companionship with a woman. i have not really ever had a 'best friend'. no woman with...

Of all the reasons people stay up way too late, I would say that watching IFC has to be the most acceptable. I moved out of my house and in with my brother. Maybe you'll get time to come back on chat and I can give you all the sordid details. . . .and I want to marinade in all the agony and glory of your latest shows!!

. . . . .and knock off all that sexy, woman!!

Yes, I really do work for an animal clinic. I'm not a Vet' or Tech' though. I'm sortof the office manager for my location. I do all the money transactions, file keeping, and generally make sure everything is done at the end of the day.
Really I'm a glorified secratary. I love my job though. Love the little critters too.
Maryjane, the SG, also works in an ER for critters over in New Mexico.

Are you really a private dick?
