we saw 'chronicles of riddick' last night...meh. i thought the visual effects were really great, and the dialog was fine. but i don't like action sequences where i can't tell what's happening because of bad camera work. for god's sake learn to do good stunts, hire stunt people, or don't have fricking big fight...

Great music list very eclectic. And at least for me at least some comics count. Like the new Ghost in the Shell Man Machine Interface (I have only #2).

the weekend of seeing shows has begun. last night hypersimulation and i went to see febrile's show, Action Movie the Play. it was pretty darn great, just what the doctor ordered. really funny and campy, with send up of every action movie cliche you can think of. and it was really dirty. lots of sexual romping fun in addition to the mad mad action...

spent last evening at the empty bottle seeing canasta, which was a blast as usual. they played a couple of new things i had never hard before, as well as many of my favorites. (i for some reason am unable to dance in a way that is at all cool anymore. i basically bob up and down and look like a muppet. this knowledge does...

Annajoy, it's not "31", it's "Upgrading to Version 3.1! Better! Faster! STRONGER!"

Next month I'm dumping the existing OS and installing V3.3. V3.0 really bugged me but it ended up being pretty good. Things have been getting better ever since.

Yes - getting drunk helps with the social awkwardness doesn't it? I think that is one appeal for many people.......

Have a great day biggrin

holy moly. i have to agree with j, the new streets record is amazing. my eyes welled up last night listening to track 10. you really feel his pain going from being the happiest man in the world to utterly bitter.

wow.

in other news, it was a really really nice sunday, after a hard week. the weather was amazing, i slept until noon, lazed...

Your pictures are really great. Especially the black and white. Did you take them?

Apparently there is going to be a Firefly movie out maybe next summer. At the moment, I think they are calling it Serenity. It was such a great, great show. Probably the best sci-fi since the Stargate series. Better than Stargate. Cancelling it was a crime.

_argos_:

How are ya today? Not bad here...... just inbetween classes, out enjoying the sunshine - for a change....it has been raining th past week - ugh!

Well - have a great day............

*cough cough*: i think i am coming down with something, scratchy throat, stuffy head and chest. weather changes, stress, and people at working being
sick probably did it. no fever, i can tolerate it if it does not get any worse.

music notes: going to see n*e*r*d and spymob tonight. looking forward to it. but i downloaded a couple of spymob songs...

Almost 31 huh? Well you sure don't look it, and probably don't feel it. I wonder what 35 is suposed to feel like. I don't even know what it feels like to be 34. I am stuck in 25 right now.

I hope you are not coming down with anything, it's spring, no one is supposed ot get sick now.

I hope you get the iPod....those are sweet.

the weather is so fantastic! and surprising, rather like the weekend in general.

we had dinner with ella on friday night, and thought about going to movie or party, gut ended up drinking wine, getting sleepy, and calling it an early night, which was fine. she seemed more comfortable and the conversation was interesting. i think she might actually have some good leads for my...

had probably one of my top three e experiences on saturday night. it usually makes me pretty happy, but this time it made me incredibly *chatty*. j. often gets to the 'talking phase' while rolling, but this was a first for me. usually i just feel happy and mellow and horny.

so we talked. for hours. i felt really articulate and clear in my thinking...

I agree with Runknisse.

I never tried the letter e...my shows were always brought to me by the letters l, s, and d. And the number 11.

Listen, if it's important, you'll remember it. I just turned 35 and it's all coming back to me now.

thephantomvi:

The memory thing does get scary....I like to think that everything I've forgotten has been pushed aside to make room for more important/relevant information....
I'm glad you had a good time on E. It's been years since I've done it (and I do miss it a bit) but I found it to be a healthy thing to do every four months or so. I gained quite a bit while I was on it....even if it was chemically induced, I knew there was peace, love, and contentment within me. Kinda like dreaming--even if it's not "real"experience, you can find things within you that you might not see otherwise...

Cool. It's sometimes difficult to explain why certain relationships "work" so well. There's no formula... and it's better that way.

i got so so so so so stoned last night. the most high i have been in a long time. j and arthur stopped by after the dylan concert, which was right around the corner from me, and we smoked a joint that arthur had brought. i took three tokes, and felt great immediately.

then about 15 minutes later, it took a downward turn, and...

Teehee! I had a very stoney sunday evening as well. Yay for mmmmmm good stoner sex! woooo!

Sigh . . . stupid lack of focus. Lack of focus on the job has me now unemployed. Perhaps it is better though for everyone involved? I obviously wasn't happy at my last job and that makes the whole lack of focus thing swing way out of control.

I'm in the crazy spring cleaning frenzy now. (and updating the good ole resume). Watch out world! A newly focused stari is about to emerge!

kiss

superflea:

So many of my friends through my formative years enjoyed lots of herbal recreation, but I never got into it.

I think I tried three or four times. Only once did I think I felt anything beyond a sore throat, and I was full of so much Jagermeister that my perceptions weren't to be trusted anyways.

But I'm down with fun watching tv, fun munchies, fun being with friends, and fun sex. biggrin

*man, i'm kinda sleepy all of a sudden. we went to bed at 2, and oscar the cat woke me up at about 7:00 and just would. not. shut. up. i love him, he is the bestest kitty in the world, but man he can be annoying as shit sometimes.

*i am having a much needed quiet couple of hours, sitting...

*the dinner party. it was fun, and in such a cozy lovely apartment. sitting at the table, after a delicious dinner, window open and fan running, feeling warm and fuzzy from wine, having after dinner cigarettes...fabulous. and so nice to meet c and lm. and see books i love on their shelves, and share art and photographs, and 1am video game blowouts. fun evening.

This sounds just wonderful....i love evenings like that.
and i was very much in love with the beautiful chicago weather as well smile

anarchist:

I feel the same way about the cat. She is so good most of the time, and then she gets into a mood to play with absolutely everything at 3:00 in the morning.

wow a 17 month relationship and 17 months of free cable. how lucky can you get smile

escottie:

you and j. are so cool. you can't imagine how many times i've come to read your journal and left with warm fuzzies. you make me want to have coffee with a friend, or curl up with a book, or an old movie, or sit in the sun and watch the world go by.

warm wafting breezes in minneapolis today, too. i was reminded of my favorite haiku:

water trickles
sun warmed rail
two chickadees
