No I'm not leaving.... just taking a break from things....my mom has been in the hospital and has had surgery and my sister has been diagnosed with cancer..... sometimes you just need a litle mental break from things. =)

Humm no I am not gonna get the tuck! Cheaters way out. However with the holidays I have put a few pounds back on! Wanna spank me into submisssion so I will eat right? Sigh wouldn't that be heavenly. Anyway, I am in California right now and trying my hardest to have a good time. I spent five hours in Hollywood being a tourist. It was wonderful. I tried new things and took lots of pictures, got my toes done and of course had to get a Hollywood tattoo. You are a gem of a woman! Kisses! And thanks for the uplifting messages! P.S. I posted a horrid miniset in EO becuase I was playing with my camera!

ah, vacuum cleaners at 2:30 in the morning. It sounds stranger than it really is. The main reason would be that I work nights and tend to be more inclined to do such shopping during MY normal hours instead of everyone else's.

I'm always looking for good cake recipes.

Today's project was finding a decent, basic chocolate cake recipe, though. And while I did eventually manage that, along the way I was exposed to the horrific creations of people who devoted their entire lives to replicating Dr. Frankenstein's labs in seemingly normal home kitchens. The stuff that people will throw into the oven and call "cake"...

On the vegetable-friendly recipe front, here's a basic fried rice:

1 cup frozen green peas
2 stalks celery, diced
2 large carrots, diced
1 medium onion
2-3 stalks green onions (optional)
1 scrambled egg, diced (optional; season with salt and pepper if using)
1 grilled chicken breast, diced (optional; may want to season lightly with soy sauce if using)
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Saute vegetables with oil in a wok over medium heat until mostly cooked (more lightly cooked = more nutrients preserved, but you don't want them to be totally raw, so cook to taste). Season a little more heavily than you would if you were eating the vegetables plain.

Then add:

2 cups cooked long-grain rice (white or brown)
~2 teaspoons light soy sauce, or to taste
~1 teaspoon sesame oil

...and cook another 5 minutes or so.

Total cooking time, not counting whatever time it took to cook the rice separately, is about 20 minutes.

I haven't heard back yet. Apparently, the CD I sent got lost, so I had to send it via internet, and now I'm just waiting....the suspense is killing me!

Well they don't fully accept u until they accept your first set...so i feel like that waiting is worse. I got an email like 2 weeks after i sent my first set that they liked my set and would let me know and then after like 3 more weeks they decided not to use it. ha so that waiting feels like forever..,.now i have to wait alll over for them to tell me they received my new set etc!
So are u still waiting to see if they accept u and then u can send a set in? i'm sure they will want a set from you! and i'm sure it will be great!

Thanks for the tip for LA. I'm def into fun museums, there were sooo many back home, so if there's time maybe i'll get to check it out. I'm sure the rest of our time will consist of the beach and shopping.
