i paid someone to bleach my hair today.
i havent been blonde in over 3 years. even if it were a fabulous job it would be a shock. and its only so-so. the guy did the best he could but i forgot there was some dye in my hair from a year ago so it didnt come up all the way and is a little too purple, blue-y.
its gonna take a few days to get used to. i'll post pix eventually
in other news my mother visted recently. stayed at my place when i wasnt there. i know she means well but she didnt do things the way i'd do them. here is a list of well intentioned things she did that pissed me off

- she took down all the magasines i had for recycling (ALL the magasines i had)
- she washed my pillows (thats pillows, not pillow cases)
- she threw away my bag of bags in the kitchen (hey, i use those bags)
- she changed my cats litter every day (i use the scoopable kind - so she wasted a lot)
- she washed my cloth diapers with bleach and fabric softener (a big no-no in the cloth diaper world)
but i kept my mouth shut and just said thanks.
was that the right thing to do?
any hair disaster stories you'd care to share?

i tried to dye my naturally light blond hair "strawberry blonde" with some temporary dye when i was 18 and it turned the truest shade of tangerine and i had a mad scramble trying to cover it up. my gay boyfriends called me 'medium rare' for weeks. sigh.
