I feel like I'm wasting my singlehood. No, I'm not referring to all the sex I'm not having (and there's a lot I'm not having...). I'm talking about the fact that I'm not responsible in any significant way for any other human being besides myself.

I should be more impulsive. I should take more risks. I should pack a suitcase, drive to the airport, and...

It's that end-of-the-Summer malaise. The things I want to do are not much more fun than the things I need to do. And the things I need to do are not much more important than the things I want to do.

I can't wait for Fall.

I'm back! My "new" 1961 Studebaker Hawk handled the 2500 mile drive from Indiana to California like a champ. I'm very pleased with it. It's basically a well-cared for car that hasn't been driven much - it's quite solid, but I need to take it into the shop to have a couple things worked on. I hope it'll be ready in time for Thursday Night...

Dude! how was the trip? You manage to keep the old tires?

No word on the job yet but I should hear something tomorrow.

Welcome back.
See you at Disneyland

I won't be around the boards much this week because I'll be busy making arrangements for my drive back from Indiana. Gotta figure out when and where to have a beer with tat2bob.

My friend borrowed me his handheld GPS navigation thingy for the trip. Those things are cool! And not all that expensive. I'd bet good money that in a year everybody will have...

Thanks for the wine!

We should know whether we can make it to out for the Disneyland trip sometime in the next couple weeks. I got the final interview tomorrow and should hear back sometime in the next couple weeks. If I get the job we'll be there.

How was the trip????

I just finished changing the oil in my truck. That in and of itself isn't very noteworthy. What's impressive is that this is the first time I've ever managed to do it without spilling a drop of oil! That's right, not even when I was pulling off the old filter! Not one single drop of oil touched the ground! I am cool.

Yo! What's up with the plans for the Indy trip?

I gotta work crazy hours on Fri, Sat, and Sun due to the Brickyard 400 but I should be able to hangout Sunday evening/Monday.

My mood is inappropriate for the weather, inappropriate for the season. But what can I say - it's a full moon out tonight... So bring on the lonely, cynical, gothy angst!

So here's what I'm thinking for my road trip home after I pick up my car in Indiana:

Day 1: Indianapolis to St. Louis
Day 2: St. Louis to Russell, Kansas (to say Hi to Bob Dole)
Day 3: Russell to Denver
Day 4: Denver to SLC
Day 5: SLC to Reno
Day 6: Reno to home

Day 1 is shaping up to be Monday,...

Tonight I realized that I am a gay couple.

For me, masturbation is sex with a man. As a man, sex with a man must be gay sex, right? And if I'm the man with whom I have gay sex, I must therefore be a gay couple.

Does anybody like wine? I need to start a tasting group.

That's awesome that you are travelling all the way to Indy to pick up a Studebaker. Whle you're in Indy, you should go down to South Bend to see the Studebaker National Museum (but I'm sure that is already on your agenda) http://www.studebakermuseum.org/

I, myself, am an Avanti man, but I'm too chicken to actually buy one.

p.s. the gay couple thing is hilarious

The price of my "free" dinner tonight will be the annoying company. Certain types of people either grate on me or just drag me down. Ugh. But tomorrow is curry again and that will be 180 better!

I'm starting to plan my road trip to pick up my "new" car. Week of Aug 5th starting in Indianapolis. I want to stop in Chicago and Salt...

please please buy my car instead smile
what did you buy? where is it in indy? how interesting..
digdug:
Bitchin ride dude. I grew up in Indianapolis. Did you buy that on Ebay? I don't wanna bum you out, but you know the one bad thing about cars from the midwest and east coast right? RUST. I drove my salt treated, ever so slightly rusted truck out to LA, and when I wanted to sell it, people kept poiting out the minor rust. None of the cars in CA have rust. I'm sure you already know this and have no intentions of ever selling it .

Oh, and Phaedra - SHAME ON YOU!!! That's not even a hard one! The name of the state is the first 7 letters in the city name, you doofus. I have encountered this all of my adult life, first living on the east cost and now on the west. I'm constantly amazed at how our educational system has failed. frown

Making plans, plans canceled, conflicting schedules, phone tag, e-mail tag. The story of my life these days. It gets to the point where I think maybe some cosmic force is telling me what I want to do isn't "meant to be."

Case in point: Almost six weeks ago (wow, has it been that long?) I contacted a guy about a car he had for sale....

I pulled my recliner right up in front of the air conditioner. It was so hot today that the AC didn't have the slightest hope of catching up. So the kitty and I sat in the chair just inches from the air conditioner and managed to survive the afternoon.

No, naife, there's no hidden meaning there...

Tomorrow is curry night! But I still don't know...
