What are you doing right now, Requiem?

Why, I'm vacuuming, as always. How about you?

the last time i visited my parents, we went through napa in the fall. all the vineyards were gold and red. it's one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen. i love it when leaves turn color. so i guess it's a good thing that i chose to live here, the city of no seasons.

So now I'm back home from the grand Didny-land adventure! What a hoot! It was great meeting all the LA folk and I can tell you they're not nearly as mean, ugly, or borderline mentally retarded as they appear in the pictures that have been posted to the boards. Many thanks to EricAllen for planning the whole thing, FEJ for being tour guide, and INDIE...

My apartment's a mess, my car is overdue for an oil change, and the cat needs to be brushed, but all the fruit is almost in! We have just under 100 tons to go and the cellar is moving back to a 5-day-a-week schedule. There's still a lot of work to do - almost every lot still needs to be pressed and barreled down and...

My father is in a similar situation, though still with many more good days than bad.

I wish you immeasurable joy in the time you have left together.

One of my absolute favorite people in this world told me she's going to be "checking out" soon. Those were her words. She deserves the rest but I'm going to miss her terribly.

Yea, might be my time to "check in" as well. Change can be great, but someone always feels a little suffering.

So today is my one day off. I slept for a good 11 hours then drove down to Napa for breakfast. From there I went to Costco for some supplies. Now I have to pack a week's worth of chores into a few hours so I can spend some time relaxing.

I've been reading religious history lately. Right now I'm reading a book about the...

Just a quick check-in. Don't think I'll be able to make Tuffy's pot luck cuz I have to be at the winery at 5:00 Saturday morning. I will be going to Disneyland and still plan to rent a car.

Okay, gotta run. I hope all's well with you.

Catch ya later!

So I hope all you bastards have fun at the SG1Y.

I'm averaging 14 hours a day at work. We're just getting into the heat of harvest. The past couple of days we've brought in about 100 tons of reds (mostly Merlot) and 50 to 100 tons of whites (Chardonnay). Our max capacity for one day is 300 tons of reds and 100 tons of...

When are you planning on leaving for LA and when do you want to get back to SF? I should probably wait on booking a flight till we get all the details worked out.

So today I decided to postpone important chores so I could get drunk with some of my coworkers. These are guys for whom I have the utmost respect, both personally and professionally. Good decision on my part! If you haven't done similarly yourself lately, highly recommend it...

The first movement of Brahms' 4th Symphony: nearly as impressive to look at as it is to hear.
