A (Slightly) Compressed Timeline of an Extremely Frenetic NY Trip:
Touch down just after 12 AM at JFK. Catch a quick LIRR to Penn Station but even after midnight still wait over two hours to check in at the Hotel Pennsylvania.
3 AM: Take advantage of the late NYC closing times and hit the Hop Devil in Alphabet City for a nightcap of Kuhnhenn Blueberry... Read More
Speaking of pizza, were you at Tomato Pizza in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd Saturday night?
I could have sworn I saw you at the counter ordering a slice!
Rather then make a food of myself if it wasn't you... I just figured I'd ask over here.
Well, it's one of those time periods right now where briefly, my life is quite exciting. To start, lots of travel lately: quick trips out to San Diego and Las Vegas in March, and then last week I went to Chicago for the Craft Brewers Conference. That was for some side work I've been doing, providing consultation to a contact who's looking into getting into... Read More
I probably need to update this. So here's something.
Around two years ago I blogged here about the new project I was about to start working on. Via Variety:
A group of documentary directors are teaming for a docu based on "Freakonomics," the bestselling book in which economist Steven D. Levitt uses theory and statistics to analyze pop culture phenomena.
This is a poor quality trailer for a sweet and funny student film I saw about ten years ago starring the awesome M. Emmet Walsh and the also awesome Martin Starr called 'Eyeball Eddie.' I wish I could track down a copy somewhere.
Heading up to Alaska tomorrow! General plan of course will be to spend as much time as possible here but if anybody has spent any time in or around Anchorage and has suggestions on anything I shouldn't miss, let me have it.
RIP: the car I've been driving since I got my license at 15, some twelve years and 183,000 miles ago. Much like me, it wasn't flashy and its exterior could never be described as appealing to the eye, but it usually got the job done.
Noble Pils may just be one of my fave SA's ever. I highly highly recommend it! It's pure awesomeness. And just so tasy. I've had 2 hours of sleep, my description of the beer isn't its best. =]
I'm getting too old for inventory. It hardly seems worth the effort anymore to catalogue my favorite books, movies or albums of 2009 since I can barely remember without checking what was officially released within the last year. And reminiscing through 2009 by events feels more intelligible only ephemerally; a few years removed, it seems irrelevant whether that relationship ended or this relative passed away... Read More
russia has the sense to actually divide it into eleven, at least. if you look at a time zone map, china is just one giant monotone blob. (also, they don't have daylight savings time. that, i actually kind of like)
Well, I've been startlingly inactive lately for obvious holiday related reasons, but God bless Las Vegas McCarran airport for their free wifi (plus the sight of slot machines at an airport terminal never gets old).
I celebrated Christmas with my family per usual in Vegas, and I'm headed back home to Kansas City for New Year's to hopefully see some old friends. Hope everyone's holidays... Read More
Had a good time over the christmas weekend. 4 days of drinking with friends, who needs gifts? New Years for now has no plan, but that'll change soon enough.
Speaking of pizza, were you at Tomato Pizza in West Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd Saturday night?
I could have sworn I saw you at the counter ordering a slice!
Rather then make a food of myself if it wasn't you... I just figured I'd ask over here.
Now of course, I'm kicking myself!
So how was the pizza? I haven't tried it yet as Vito's is my go-to place for pizza around these parts.
