Goong Hay Fat Choy!

Calendar starting to fill up. There's a sociology conference in Boston coming up...an aikido seminar I'll probably go to, also in March. Also, I got some work with Thirteen/WNET for next week which keeps the wolf from the door another week or so.

More Chinatown research for sociology grad work. I got a bunch of video and stills of two weekends...

Firstly, thank you.

Secondly, I'm primarily a fruititarian, soooo.. 90% of the day is spent eating pieces of fruit. apples, oranges, grapes, papayas, cantaloupes, bananas, kiwis, tomatoes, pineapples. Next in line would be veggies and leafy greens.. and then a small amount of fats like avocados, or coconuts. I would say that once or twice a day I might make a dish combining fruits and veggies to resemble a cooked dish. Last night was an amazing stew (uncooked of course, but I can warm it up to about 115 degrees.. so its warm at least). At this very moment I'm just about to start my 5th apple for the morning.

Yeah, I'm interested. He's just never been around enough for us to start anything. I don't think his being on tour would bother me if we were together, but it does create a non-starter romantic situation.

I can ask a friend. Only I won't see her until after the holiday celebrations. (She's super into Chinese Astrology)

I, on the other hand, am a tiger. Do I get an automatic great year?

Seems like every single impulse I have leads to having to learn some technical thing...This weekend I have to figure out Macromedia Fireworks so I can redesign a webpage for my documentary because it's taking too long to explain what I want to this web designer who's helping me. Have to re-teach myself how to embed video on my own web page which I keep...

Thanks! It is great she doesn't have to move, and we all love that house. It's in a great neighborhood: dead-center middle class, safe, convenient, and full of lovely trees with a park nearby. It's a mid-century treasure.

geekgoddess:
thanks biggrin

what's new? I got a H1N1 shot...this is the first year I actually got a regular flu shot too.

this is something I care a lot about...if you've heard about the inhuman surge in the detention and deportation of immigrants that hasn't stopped even as of the Obama administration, then please take 30 seconds to support some brave men & women who are fasting to...

so much going on, happy 2010 everyone!

made a couple of videos New Year's in Niagara, here's one of Styx covering "I Am the Walrus":

me and AC drove up to Beacon NY and then to Niagara...sort of a last-minute idea. Normally one does not drive *north* for a winter getaway but we didn't want to make such a major trip driving south for days...

I've been such a non-presence here on SG for many weeks & don't know how soon that'll change. Got a lot on my plate and on my mind like I've written about...hard to excuse sitting down to blog lately. After my final papers for Sociology are in next week I may have a chance to catch up more here. I'll at least read and comment...

Kinda flipping out with all the stuff I have to do...it's all good stuff to do, but it's happening all at once, yesterday had to run to campus to do this statistics assignment, then ran to work my first night assistant editing for a public TV show...the statistics crap took so long & then I was in the subway for an hour traveling from Brooklyn...

I much prefer the less glossy looking myself too, so much more real and sexy! But there are so many people that love that glossy look! Dammit! I love natural light on skin most of all smile xx

hope you all had a happy Halloween. Me, I had an aikido mini-seminar...three hours of throwing and getting thrown around followed by a potluck.

My hands are still feeling the effects of squeezing 6 bags of oranges...I was asked to provide fresh OJ for the potluck. I was relieved at first because I thought it would be easier than making a dish. WRONG! I got...

I miss my old electric citrus-juicer. So handy, and even though the sound it made was less than musical, it was always a pleasant sound.

I want to see Where the Wild Things Are, too, but I keep hearing disappointing things about it. Still...I do love Spike Jonez. My favorite favorite is Adaptation.smile

How'd the aikido seminar go, aside from the potluck?
nanette:
i doubt it'll be, my room is a storage room...they really wanted me out this whole time...i cant believe my mother and sister would do that...

I'm getting more efficient with my procrastination here...have no choice. I just got my first TV assistant editing gig, starting next week. It's going to turn up the heat on my schedule even more 'cause it's going to make me miss at least a few of my classes. But it's a big step...since I'm just starting I won't get into the details yet.

A lot...

you have a busy weekend to yourself...i wouldn't be flying off soon...i'm planning Italy or London for a month. So I've started saving up.
_bossanova_:
I can't claim credit for that-no camera of my own. Some clever person shot that from a helicopter, I'd guess. Lucky them!

I managed to avoid drinking at all this weekend to make up for the last one, and I feel sooo much better for it. How was the show? Was it the ongoing show they do at LPR?
