YEah, whatever you say about Ichiro, he's amazing to watch.

The game tonight, less so....

Time for a new profile pic....as much as I like the current one and the "ei blot til lyst" message, it's been there for awhle and it's time for a new one.

I got my car fixed the rest of the way today. I posted a resume on a couple online places. I breathed through my nose for the first time in days. I ate...

Aside from his more famous works (like the ones you listed), I've never really read much Poe. The book was only $2, so I figured I'd take a chance.

Worst comes to worst, I'll fall back on my extensive Eddings collection. I haven't read those books since HS.

Well, I was kinda slow on catching this one, I admit.

Does it get any more entertaining than watching Stand By Me with Thai subtitles and dubbed in Portuguese?

Skipper = Jonas Grumby

I don't get the booger reference. frown

I did not know that.
I was never an avid watcher of 'WKRP' though.

So I should be out looking for a job right now. However, I still feel like fucking ass. Instead I am spending the day looking online. I have checked out Mlive and Monster....so far I've found nothing. It seems that an overwhelmingly high number of these jobs are either in the medical field or require a CDL or are for the military. I can't...

My head has not exploded yet. I'm up in the air as to whether or not this is a good thing. On the plus side I wouldn't be feeling this immense pressure and I would not have snot dripping out of my nose like crazy. The downside is that it would be a mess cleaning exploded head off of my keyboard especially since I wouldn't...

So, just how much snot can one person have in their body? I've been feeling like absolute fucking hell for the last day or two. My nose won't stop running. I've been coughing a bit. I've been sneezing a bit. Thankfully I do not have to go to work feeling like this. My plan is just to sit around on my ass until I can...

Gorgeous Globs of Green Goo! It's something all of us share this season!

What color is your snot? Because the "sickie" level of snot comes on a sliding scale. I read somewhere if your snot is clear-colored then you don't have any viral infection within your body. (Usual allergies produce clear snot.) The next level is yellow snot. Finally, green. If your snot is green, then you know you have bad bacteria floating around in your body.

p.s.
There are a lot of cheap keyboards now. My friend bought one at Ross for eight bucks. Nice monitors are fairly inexpensive now too. You can easily find one for under a hundred. (You probably already know this, oh well) Nothing beats the ease and convenience of a laptop though.

ha ha! thanks, but i doubt if i can rightfully join the group. i'm not sure if it's the type of "water sport" i'm into. however, i do cherish fond memories of watching the men's water polo team as they play wearing itsy bitsy thongish Speedos.

I have had a good day....a very good day, indeed.

At 7:00 I went and saw Battleship Potemkin at the local museum. It was super fucking cool seeing it on the big screen. To add to the coolness the guy who was in charge of showing the film switched over to the WVU/Louisville game up until the start time of the movie. So, I...

It's like picking the yankees at the start of the baseball season. They won't win it every year, but it's the safest bet. They were a #1 seed. They were weak, but it they did make it to the elite 8. Better than 'Cuse did, better than Wake. But it does suck for me, cuz they are my team.

Alrighty....a more proper update.

I woke up Saturday morning and my computer wouldn't do anything. I couldn't get online. I couldn't see any of the files on my computer. I couldn't do anything. But I didn't have time to do anything about it.

Saturday morning I left for Saginaw and I was there until Tuesday morning. It wasn't too bad. There was some good and...

Great pick. Especially in the Eighth Round.

I would bet a significant amount of money that Bonds is playing by Mid-May. He just said that stuff to get the media all in a tizzy/off his back/fuck up people's fantasy drafts. Knee surgeries like that typically only take a month to heal. Even with his advanced age, he'll be out there much sooner than the All Star Break.

Trust me. I've been watching Bonds for the past 13 years. About once a year he pulls out the "this might be my last year" routine. It's just for his own amusement.

so would you get fringe benefits at the DairyM? like free milk and popsicles or something? then it would totally be worth it.

i have an emac, you know the one that looks a giant half-egg.. but i dont use it much because it's not nearly as convenient as the laptop. shocked i heard good things about the mac mini. too bad apple just doesnt include a mini keyboard and mini monitor to go with it for an extra $100.

Things I did today.....

1. Went to work for a couple hours.

2. Bought lunch for the guys at work. You see, my general manager is not excessively bright and she told the manager that the store owed me money even though it didn't. So, I used the $15 to buy chinese food for myself and the two guys I was working with....I had Szechuan...

St. Louis isn't a bad place to live. I mean, if you are a vegetarian or vegan then you should probably avoid the mid-west altogether.

It is a union town, so you will only find companies like wal-mart on the outskirts for the most part. Rent prices aren't bad and being a pro-labor town, wages are generally pretty good.

They are doing a lot of highway and airport expansion currently, as well as expanding the light rail system. Right now the light rail can get you to downtown, and will drop you off at any professional sports venue, which is nice.

Excellent italian food, thin crust pizza, and toasted ravioli. Be forewarned, at many local pizza places there they will use provolone instead of mozzarella. I remember when I was a little kid that if you ordered from pizza hut or dominos it would come with provolone. which, in my opinion, is the way to make a pizza. smile

Well, I may be quitting my job today. My boss enjoys blocking my attempts to get as many hours as I possibly can. I am supposed to work 4-9 tonight. I am guessing I will be getting a call sometime this afternoon telling me not to bother coming in. I'm not going to answer the phone, I will just show up anyway. If when I...

Yeah, Spike is the first Elvis Costello I heard too. I saw the "Veronica" video on MTV, and was intrigued. Couldn't afford to buy it right away, but it didn't take long. And this was during a big Beatles phase for me, so the fact that Paul McCartney co-wrote some of the songs clinched it. A lot of Costello fans regard this as a low-point in his career, but I can't figure that out. Admittedly it has some synth stuff here and there that seems kinda cheesy today, and maybe the fact that Elvis was getting MTV play at all turned off some fans... But as far as I'm concerned, Spike is a career highlight. I love the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and especially Marc Ribot on guitar. Whenever I hear "Chewing Gum," I think every pop song should have a tuba. And Ribot's avant skronk.

Any idea where you want to work? I have my stuff in with temp agencies, so I'm not to worried, but I feel sick over this (literally). They say they have no record of my work, so they think I faked my hours. I'm waiting to hear back from them. I'll probably get fired. I feel nauseated. I've been with them for four years. I was going to quit soon anyway, but quitting doesn't leave a black mark on your record. blackeyed

I've fired up the ole VCR and I'm watching some episodes of Aeon Flux.....damn do I love this show. I'm so certain that the movie will suck ass. I'll probably see it, but I know I will hate it. Then again, I knew I would hate the Josie and the Pussycat movie and I ended up loving it.

I'm so sick of snow!!!!! It's not...

when I lived in orlando 'bout 6 years ago, we threw lots of house parties, and aeon flux was always on the TV with random electronica playing in the background. it always synced up so well, better after a few bong hits.

did you know season one of Pete & Pete comes out on DVD in May?

Maybe I'll do the Pixies but it seems somewhat redundant since there is already a "Best of " CD floating around out there for them....
