It's amazing how the time it takes to recount years past varies from person to person. Some people you see on the street, talk for 30 seconds and feel 'caught-up' and then there's the ones that you can hang out with for several hours and feel like you've only barely scraped the surface.

Totally - same boat here. The people I know are all veteran burners, so they already come with all the basic gear, necessities, and costumery that they'd need. I'll wind up getting the lowest price ticket I can when I can get it, and if my finances change along the way and I'm in a position to share a bit more, I'll find some other way (be it extra beer/drinks to share or some other such endeavor).

I just read that the base ticket price will be $185. Up $10 from last year, but in all not too bad an increase...it's still the best money I'll spend all year. The skinny.

Aside from any clothes, costumes, or other gear, there's a cool camp called the Black Rock Boutique. They operate a sort of outfit/costume shop. All year long they collect, make, or even buy burner-esque attire, and then set up "shop" someplace near center camp to cater to first time burners, as well as those with a sense of adventurous style. I use quotes, of course, because despite being a shop or boutique, everything in it is free.

Drat! Foiled again. I was gonna hang out with this girl today because I couldn't hang out with her yesterday. But--something else came up. They really aren't incidents that I can blame her for so it's just bad luck I guess. Ahh well, next time.
