I'm thinking about applying for the Peace Corps. I think I'd absolutely love helping people in third world countries. I've always thought about it.

Thoughts, anyone?

writeboy:
A friend of mine said her son was thinking of the Peace Corps too. That is hard core, but very worthwhile I'm sure. I lived overseas for 6 months once and there were Peace Corps workers in the next village 5 miles down the road. I was in awe that they were there for 2.5 years. Given that it's such a big commitment maybe there are ways you could test the waters first. Maybe a 2 or 3 week volunteering trip with a team or something.

I think its a fantastic way to see the true world and give to those who have only ever been taken from, I did work with world vision and plan Canada in the past and its depressing how many people could deny the billions in need because the millions here have not got it perfect yet. We are all human beings who deserve a chance to not only be alive but to live, and until the world can unite with a common concern for ALL people, its people like the peace corps who keep humanity from slipping into the Abyss of ignorance and greed!

Not only is it a bitch to drive in, but I'm anemic & I get cold easily anyways, so it leaves me miserable!

Someone take me to LA or Miami already :(

This past year has been one hell of a run. I've definitely learned a lot from all the shit I have been through.

I loved & I lost, & I've made good memories and bad ones as well.

Like everybody else, I have a lot of goals to accomplish (too many for this post :p)

But, alas, everyone have a safe New Year's Eve and...

Hope that everyone is having a fantastic day & are with the ones they love this year!

This is, unfortunately, the first Christsmas I am spending alone in 7 years. Me & my ex just broke up in May of this year after 7 years of being together. But it's okay because I get to spend it with my amazing family that I love so...

So, my recently pierced nose ring is infected, & I'm not sure what to do about it. I constantly clean it with peroxide and/or alcohol, but it keeps crusting up and is red & sore. I don't want to take it out, so does anyone have any ideas to help the infection go away?

I absolutely do not use anything but sea salt (uniodized at the very least) on all my piercings. I feel like alcohol and peroxide are too harsh on an open wound (excepting surgery, and a piercing should be treated more or less like a wound) and since I switched to sea salt I've had no problems. It took me 6 times piercing my nipples to finally get them to fully heal and not have problems that evolved into taking them out. Seeeeeea salt!I get mine from my local tattoo and piercing shop for free with my piercings these days. :)

I used sea salt & I took the hoop out, covered it in neosporin & put in back in every day for the last week. I think it's fully healed now! Thank you everybody! ๐Ÿ˜˜

Headed out Christmas shopping with my friend, Angela. There's so many great deals that I always end up buying myself something while buying presents! Definitely a confession of a shopaholic over here :D
