I've been looking forward to the film adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel 300 for a long time. I've probably watched the trailer for 300 about 300 times, so when Warner Brothers asked if we'd be interested in hosting an exclusive, behind-the-scenes video journal from the movie, I didn't have to give it much thought.

The film combines live action with virtual backgrounds—similar to Miller's Sin City, although the screens were green for Sin City and blue for 300. The epic graphic novel (and its movie-magic adaptation) tells the story of the Battle of Thermopylae, in which King Leonidas (played by a very ripped Gerard Butler) leads 300 Spartans in a fight to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army.

Gerard Butler hosts this behind-the-scenes video. He calls the movie a "hyper-real, beautiful, emotional world," and says that "the intensity is almost unbearable."

"It's not a documentary," says Gerard, waxing poetic. "It's a kick ass story filled with passion, politics, brutality."

Gerard Butler is lookin bad ass in this movie. they have podcasts that were done during filming that are worth checking out as well.

Will be neat I hope. I was always inpired by the story of this battle when I was younger. Until i saw this...I was weary at best...amounting it to a "Alexader" type Hollywood movie I did not realize that this was a movie based on frank miller book, and not "just" another big stylized mess. So i went from avoiding it...just now...to being very interested. Was afraid...and still am that it will be on the lines of that type of movie but am interested enough to go see it now.

I've been excited for a while about this, I hope Sin City and the 300 mark only the beginning of the most rad graphic novel adaptations we've ever seen (at least in terms of near perfect replication of each and every panel of art and dialogue). And hurray for a Scottish actor playing the lead in this movie, we can only use more of you!

I just recently bought the graphic novel and it looks like a dead on adaptation. This film will kick ass on an unimaginable scale.
