Just realised that my subscription to SG runs out in a week or so frown Still not sure if I'll renew it. I quite like the site, but I've barely been on it so I keep forgetting to post blogs and comments in groups. Plus I'm saving up for a new DSLR, possibly a Canon 1100D since I'm quite new to photography and don't want to...

Programming is a lot harder than I thought it would be. There's loads of problems where you just feel like you're not making any progress, which isn't really like any other subject. I mean, even in maths, if i sit staring at the page for long enough i'll figure it all out eventually. No such luck so far with my Python assessment though, lol :\

Saw an interesting bit on the news today. They said that a University in Israel did a Psychology/Sociology experiment where it got a whole load of people (i think about 200) to watch a speech by Obama on Middle East policies.

- Half of them where put in a room and asked to watch the speech with the caption; Barrack Obama at the bottom of...

I'm finally at Uni and have finally made the decision to switch to Computer Science instead of staying with Physics. I'll still be doing the odd Physics module for funzies but other than that I'm a Comp Geek now tongue

The computing part of my course is just far more fun; obviously there's Computer Programming Principles which is awesome because programming is the most interesting part...

Two awesome things;

A bar near me is going to be having a Magic: The Gathering event. Awesome!

Also Professor Brian Cox is speaking at my University soon! If you don't know who he is, he's a little bit like Carl Sagan but cooler! And still alive.

Anyway, not much else to say.

Haven't been on here in a while. Mostly because I've been trying to spend less time on the PC. Been playing loads of video games. And watched practically everything that happened at the Olympics, which also got me in the mood for doing exercise more. Mainly though I've just been bored out of my mind because Uni doesn't start for another month and I still...

I say go physics. Just submerge yourself and don't worry about other directions you could go. Just pick a path and commit yourself completely.

This isn't something anyone can decide for you, but I'd say that computing studies would be a wiser choice work-wise. Hell, I might be wrong, but I always try and think about choices like that one in a long-term kind of way.
Forget about the cave, no video games in there. wink

I love people who have their own weird words for things. My brother has a friend who calls all good things; 'Pro' and all bad things 'Filth'. I know it's not that weird, but it's kinda funny. Anyone else know of any personal colloquialisms?
limitedmoon:
I know it makes us sound horribly... well, horrible, but my boyfriend and I describe anything remotely sentimental as 'gay'. I'll say he looks cute, he reply with 'You're gay'.He'll look at me and say 'I love you', I'll reply with 'so gay'. It's not meant to be in an offensive way - it's just the word means something completely different to us. I can't really mean it offensively - sometimes I'll say to my man 'of course I'm gayer than you', because I've been with girls and stuff *shrug*

Or, alternatively, we both just spend too much time online whatever

Bored out of my mind so far this summer. It's raining all the time in Scotland and I still don't have a job yet. The only consolation is that I start Uni in September. I've also been trying to do some stuff to quell my boredom; I've started getting fit, 'cause I plan on starting Akido classes at Uni.

On top of that I've been...
