It's Saturday today and here I am again in my backyard with a nice big cup of fresh ground, marbled coffee. What is that you ask? My fave coffee place in Toronto -Balzac's- makes a marble roast that is a blend of mild, medium and dark roasts. You get all the notes of all the flavours. It's tops . So now I buy several kinds of beans and marble it myself.
I was supposed to go up north this weekend to visit my friend who's mom got left a huge inheritance and then married a millionaire to top it off. My friend grew up very poor (sometimes living in motels which her mother cleaned) and then when she was in her early 20s-- in a cinderella story-- her mom got left a huge plastics company which she now owns and runs (good for her for running it herself!). Now they live in a mansion north of Toronto and they have (get this) stables and a Ferrari collection. I was really looking forward to seeing this place in the day. I had been there at night last Christmas and didn't see the horses or cars, it was too dark and cold.
She is a member of the Coquettes, a great burlesque troupe in Toronto. Daughter, not the mother. Although her mom would count a MILF.
She's going to get her MA in England for a year so I won't get to see her before she goes. I'm sad about that and sad to not check out her mom's digs in the light of day. I'm sure I'll get ther someday.
Thanks 605 for the "edit" info. I see it now, clear as a bell on the column to my right.
So anyway that's why I'm here, in my backyard on this lovely day.
There are airplanes flyng low over my trees, I live close to Lake Ontario and The Air Show started today.
This is the calm before the storm of producing my first Bollywood movie. I'm superstoked to start, meetings might start as early as next week. There are 30 locations for each dance sequence. This made no sense to me until I rented and watched a few Bollywood Blockbusters last weekend and boy are they awesome (in the melted cheese sort of way) and boy do they flip around in locations. The one I saw had this impossibly beautiful woman in it, I forgot her name-- she was Miss Universe 2000.
I bought a dehumifier off ebay (my first ebay purchase). Brand new almost a third of the price. And last night I went Go Karting on a 3 km mini-indy track. I think Go Karting is the coolest and I think I want to buy my own Kart down the road. I'd soup it up and trick it out. Get it painted with zebra stripes and purple running light (can you get lights on Go Karts?) I think that would rock.
So now I'm going to see if I can get one my breakfast boys to whip something up for me to go with my coffee. I'm going to get them aprons and hats that say Kiss The Cook.
Ta ta for now
