Astromonkey BBQ
1225 Longford Rd.
Phoenixville, Pa 19460
June 26th, 2004
3pm - Whenever
Live Music: The Cut Offs, Mobedda, Internet Sex Ring, and Notch 45
$5 donation gets you all the food and beer you can drink. Must be 21 to drink.
Food and bands start promptly at 4pm.
With one day left before the BBQ, this here is my last second push to spread the word. If you don't have any plans for tomorrow, come on out. The band listing has changed slightly. Internet Sex Ring has dropped out, and they have been replaced with another band, who's name escapes me at the moment.
The official Astromonkey comic book will be given out free with admission to the first 100 party goers. So make sure you get there early to snag your copy before they all run out. They'll be signed, special edition comics, so you don't want to miss that one.
Back to the topic of work. Well, I got the end all be all phone call today. I was terminated because of a policy violation. Fuck'em. I'm better off without that job. Really. Our old assistant literally went insane, and started binge drinking because of the job. I was almost at that point, cracking more and more each day. Not to mention drinking a whole lot more. It's scary what that place will do to you with their fucked up policies.
So now I'm out on the hunt again, looking for something to fill my time. I'll find something. I always do. But at least I have time now to get shit done around the house, and actually catch up with some of the stuff I've been slacking on over at Trinity Comics. I did a slew of updates last night, and now I'm in talks with a few artists to get shit rolling on actual illustrated books.
Once that goes down, I'm gonna start rolling out t-shirts and the like for Trinity and it's feature stories Final Haven II and Pages on the Concrete. They're the flagship stories right now, and I'm gonna treat them as such.
And I'm a little lost with this one, but who do I have to talk to about advertising with SG? I'd love to promote SG on my site, and maybe to an inside back cover spread in the comics when they start rolling, but I have no idea who to talk to.
Ah well. Maybe losing my job is gonna prove to be my big break that I needed. The only thing that was holding me back WAS the job, so, I want to officially thank Spencer Gifts for terminating me. For all of you looking for a job, don't go there. Honestly. I'm not saying that because I'm bitter. I'm saying that because the truth is, the company treats their employee's horribly. I worked there for 2 years, full time, as a key holder, and I still couldn't get benefits.
Oh well. I have to go help set up for the BBQ and make sure the comic's finished. I hope to see some of ya'll out there. It's gonna be fun.
Later,
Wolfman
