Im back,

After a big absence some one (anonymous) bought me a 3 month membership to SG. I am guessing it is a promo to get me back into the fold. However to be honest I am not digging how the site has changed. Maybe i am getting old but it seems a little more commercial, a little more contrived and well al little crappier....

well funnily enough i am in love with Jack White. we could make a team, you be the left and i'll be the right. wink
seriously tho' twas good to hear from you recently and to know your still alive and survived the tassie winter. When we didn't hear from you for so long i thought the worst; that you had swum upstream with some spawning salmon and frozen to death... you know your typical tassie fatality.
anyways... have fun and keep enjoying the mainland summer and all its music, will you ba back in tassie this year?

smile

Disconnect the telephone line
Relax baby and draw that blind

Kick off your shoes and sit right down
Loosen off that pretty french gown
Let me pour you a good long drink

Oh, dear, that's right - "Swordfight! Swordfight!" Jesus, I didn't think anyone else remembered that disturbing little peccadillo. "You want subversion on a massive level." wink

God, believe me, I'm just glad it was a dream. That way, I can't be in any way be held responsible for the horror of the wife-beater.

Saw Tim Rodgers and Tex perkins in a duo format on the weekend. Tex turned Rod stewrarts "Tonights the night" in to to a deflowering date rape song!!!

They played chase the dragon, Berlin chair and Brown Sugar. I was one very good gig. They were having loads of fun

also saw Matt Walker and Ash Davies. The boys can play.

Bring on the Music...

Sounds like a hoot! Why am I not surprised that Tex literally deflowered Tonight's the Night... biggrin

I've heard good things about Matt and Ash but have yet to see them

I've given the D3 album a good few listens and...I like it but dont think it's their best. I want to give it a listen at home for a while though. It might need more time to seep in.

Hot breath, rough skin,
warm laughs and smiling,
the loveliest words
whispered and meant
you like all these things.

But, though you like all these things,
you love a stone.

You love a stone,
because its smooth and its cold.
And youd love most to be told that its all your own.

You love white veins, you love hard grey,
the heaviest weight, the clumsiest...

Saw the Mess Hall on the weekend after a bit of margirita madness and they blew me away. My liver is still recovering.

Got taken out on my push bike by a crazy woman and flew acorss her bonnet. And all I got out of it was a little bruise on my ankle. Scared the shit outta me though

Other than that not much going...

Ok, so I've put together a quick idea of what my ultimate festival line-up would be - at least for today. There's a pretty good mix of styles and moods and the only requirement has been that it must be possible for the artist to perform. No dead folk on this one.

Antony and the Johnsons
The Arcade Fire
Blues Explosion
Bright Eyes
BRMC
CocoRosie
Converge
Death Cab for Cutie
Dillinger Escape Plan
Dirty Three
Einsteurzende Neubauten
Flaming Lips
Fugazi
Godspeed! You Black Emperor
Interpol
Isis
Low
Mars Volta
Mastodon
Melvins
Modest Mouse
Neurosis
Will Oldham
Portishead
Q and not U
Damien Rice
RFTC
Brian Setzer Orchestra
DJ Shadow
Shellac (I can dream)
Sigur Ros
Slint
Son Volt
Stooges (they're back!!!)
Tortoise
Uncle Tupelo (reunion show - hey, if Dinosaur Jr can do it!!)
Tom Waits
Gillian Welch
Wilco

...I could go on forever, but if the above line-up was announced I would most likely wet my pants.
phate1301:
Yeah...the Uncle Tupelo thing was just a dream. Though, I think if we put Farrar and Tweedy in a caged arena with an assortment of hand held weaponry, we'd have one hell of an 'ultimate fighting' style death match on our hands. Maybe that could be one of the smaller stages/tents.

I'd watch. wink

...and my money would be on Farrar
