Writing a 10 page paper on globalization tonight. Well, if I could tear myself away from SG, that is.
Its such a huge concept. Its the future, the beginning, the end, everything. I love the idea of a truly global community, but I mean, if 51% of the people in this country can't come to terms with gay marriage, we've got an awfully long way...

This is just something going around on my email list...but it hit me very hard and does a good job of summing up how I feel right now. It is well worth the read, especially for the punch at the end.

It seems so simple doesn't it? Sometimes I feel so in touch with the disconnect if that means anything. I see the schism between what I believe and what the "others" believe and I don't understand. I feel trapped in a bad dream where others are speaking a tongue close to mine, but just different enough that we cannot understand one another. Maybe I am a narcissist, or maybe I am as rational as they come. All I want is a world that I can hand over to the next generation wiith the clear conscience that I have done everything I can to ensure that it is the best world I can give.

That reminds me alot of a similiar letter I got the other day. Of course the one I got said the word Fuck somewhere around 40 times. And, um, Hi.. Welcome to the site.
hah! I'm being consumed by this place already. Seems to be going well though, and its making me smile. Not much does these days.

"Somewhat awkwardly" - lol - aren't they all awkward? It's like riding a bike for your first time, lots of wobbles, shakes, false starts, but eventually you push down and start gliding, and whole new roads open up to you....
you're cool, man; I like your vibe. Very well spoken, thoughtful, definite pluses.
Check out Stormy's Innocence set; you'll like, I promise.
Hope to see you around more!

Now that I've had a little bit of time to explore the site, I must say, I love the attitude around here. Anything that helps to tear down the stereotypical american view of beauty is a great thing in my book, but this goes further than that. Its about empowerment, not exploitation.

excellent first post. welcome home.
Well, hello and welcome to my journal
I must admit it, it was those sexy girls giving me the eye as I read pitchfork that brought me here, I expected it to just be a bit of eye candy but it seems this place is quite a bit more than that. I've never really used one of these friendster type programs before, but this one...
