i was recently notified that mine and my daughters health insurance will end at the end of this month..this sucks for a billion reasons.. my dad has been trying to figure out ways to get her under his insurance but it turns out the only way to do that is if i sign my rights over to him which would make him her "legal guardian." this is so fucked...im considering taking her and dissapearing. although, that isnt going to get her health insurance either...
p.s. its really really cold here. im ready to go back to california.

Since we live in the same state I looked up our "Basic Health" health plan and they are not insuring anyone right now but it would be a good idea to get on the waiting list now if you're not already. The average cost is $140 a month and on a sliding scale so depending on your income you may pay more or less. It's basic coverage as the name indicates but it is peace of mind for you as a concerned mother. I would never turn over parental rights to anyone. It is far too hard to get them back in most states and not having insurance is worrisome but temporary. I am happy to help you get info on insurance if you need it. Keep your chin up, it will all work out!!!
