First off, I do not intend to offend anyone, but it always sort of inherently happens. Mostly those that believe in the mystical man upstairs, because I don't. Let me repeat that, I don't believe in GOD, as a matter of fact, I choose not to believe in anything if the sort. Yes, I am an atheist.
Now, the biggest problem here is that it is perfectly ok to mock or prejudice my lack of beliefs, but it is wrong anytime an atheist pokes back. So you don't like a joke I made, but when you tell me I'm going to hell as a non-believer... That's ok. Guess what it's not.
This all stems from a coworker of mine posting a meme on Facebook downplaying the Big Bang, and that's fine. But like any good hearted "God lover" it turned to how can you believe science when their evidence changes and theories evolve. Christians don't need to change their story because they just KNOW. I avoided most of it and at o r point posted a pic.....
To which was pointed out to me by a fellow coworker today, that it's not right to do such a thing. And though I feel I certain, I have a family and whatnot to think about when it comes to the backlash. So what your saying is because you staunchly have a belief it makes your opinions that much more valid and worthy of defense. Are you fucking kidding me?
How can one person possibly believe their thought process to be so much more righteous than another persons. My lack of belief should make me no more a target than your belief makes you a target. And to top it all, if you really want to compare, I have a much higher moral compass than a lot of those people that take on religion. But all in all I'm just a heathen to these people, whether I give them their due respect or not.
All in all, if you really take yourself that seriously, you're probably doing it wrong anyway. I have to take some shots, least you could do is learn to take them in return.
