Great week! We started the week with our winter twig collections and an exam. I didn't get my marks yet but I think I passed. Twigs can be tricky. We finished math this week so woohoo no more of that!

Thursday I volunteered to drive to West PEI to conduct a survey for opening day of fishing season. We were measuring and scraping some scale samples from trout so we can get an idea of numbers and so we can age the fish later in the lab. Yes, I know, removal is not a good method for estimating population, but the fishermen are removing them anyway so there's no harm in counting them. When we finished surveying we went for a drive to North Cape (the northernmost tip of PEI) to see the lighthouse and the giant windmills that are up there. The 3 gorgeous ladies I was with are from the mainland and didn't get to see that end of the island yet. I'm not sure if I'll be able to claim the extra mileage but my fingers are crossed. We went through some of the small fishing villages up there too. Alberton is very nice and has a beautiful pond. Tignish is aweful and we were welcomed by people cursing at us and speeding past us even though there was oncoming traffic. The only good thing about Tignish is the Pizza Shack that I get breakfast pizza from when I do Biking For Breakfast Challenge, and Gunner's Pub. They have really good food.

Friday we were cleaning nest boxes for American Kestrel and putting fresh shavings in so they can use them again. We saw a couple flying around. They were trying to anyway. It was really windy. Friday night I went over to my friend James' place to have our stoned movie night. It's become a weekly event. The past month we've watched Watchmen, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Tokyo Gore Police, Dead Alive, The Lost Boys, just to name a few. They were all fantastic. Any suggestions for next weeks movie will be greatly appreciated.

I visited my parents and our sheltie today! ...
