I just picked up Blacklisted by Neko Case. I can't praise it enough. Her sensibility has been described as Southern Gothic; that does capture part of her sound. Her vocal control, expression, and passion make her songs intensely affecting. I can't seem to describe her. I'll blame it on four hours sleep last night. *laugh* If I can tear myself away from her voice, I will sleep now.

Not quite as dark as Neko, I'm currently obsessed with Lucinda Williams... she can write one helluva song!
