One of my best friends is in the midst of heart surgery this morning. Wasn't supposed to live past age 5. Getting a pacemaker at 40. This reminds me how much I still haven't done with my life.

BTW, if you haven't noticed, the beach sand gets darker the farther north you travel. Almost white in San Diego, but black in Washington. Anybody know why?
