Ray Bradbury passed away this week. As I passively scrolled through my Facebook Newsfeed, ignoring much of the noise people tend to make about themselves, I was genuinely surprised to find that very few had anything to say on the subject. He was, arguably, one of the most influential and thought-provoking authors of our time. I'm not ashamed to say this: it's terrible and an alarming indicator of where we're headed when artists such as Huxley and Bradbury are pushed aside for more mind-numbing and sensational acts such as Madonna and Michael Jackson.

p.s. Last note on the above^. While I see where you're coming from with the e-book as a more eco-friendly alternative to the bound paper book, the nature of the electronic library opens up the possibility of an orwellian-style change of information, where at any point those who own and operate the system can link to your device and alter or completely remove any information/passages/whole stories or papers that they deem to be dangerous or undesirable.
In the end I got to spend a couple of hours at the party and then came back home and read a little bit before I crashed in bed, drunk lol.
