Christ that was a ridiculous week. I fell out of routine pretty fucking quickly as soon as I had something better to do, it seems. I'm a fickle bastard really.
Tuesday
Went to Manchester to see Strung Out. Foolishly had just a t-shirt knowing I'd probably sweat to death inside the venue so the trip from car to club was especially cold. I'm a fairy like that. They were great as usual, although I would've liked a little less of the very old stuff. They did play Scarecrow, though - so that was awesome. Returned home and slid into bed at about 1:15am before getting back up at 6:30 for work.
Wednesday
Went to see Kick Ass again. This time round it was in a better cinema and with a bigger crowd so that made it a little better, almost. Had to go to a late showing because one of my friends was working late. Got out of the cinema itself at about midnight and home for about 12:30ish. Another late night where I sleep from about 1am to 6:30.
Thursday
Got home from work and felt a bit like shit. Had already arranged to go see The Joy Formidable in Wrexham and was struggling a bit with the whole staying awake thing. If I'm honest I probably would've pulled out and gone to sleep if I wasnt the designated driver. I made my way in and was in a shitty mood because of the tiredness. I didnt enjoy the band nearly as much as I should've because of it, and was then a bit pissed off that as soon as I got my 2nd wind and started feeling much better and happier, the gig finished. Drove home, stopping 3 times on the way for one of my friends to throw up through drunkeness.
Friday
Good Friday meaning I don't have to work and can happily sleep until midday to catch up on all the sleep I missed during the week. Arrangements have been made to go out for sushi for my birthday. I love the place anyway, and they'd even sent me a 30% off voucher for my birthday. I left the sushi bar, tired and heavy with the silly amount of food I'd packed away. Then it was onto the cinema where we saw Clash of the Titans. We opted for 2D after hearing the 3D was bad enough to make the film worse. It was okay, I guess, leaving me fairly ambivalent towards it in general. I'm not convinced I'll ever see it again, although I didn't dislike it enough to cause me to complain about it or anything. I also bought Moon and District 9 on bluray from one of those futuristic vending machines which, quite rightly but still surprisingly, are cheaper than brick and mortar shops.
Saturday
So far today I've played some Ghostbusters, downloaded South Park Tower Defence Play Lets Go on the cheap and am now watching The Simpsons after finally relocating to the living room and getting some breakfast.
In a week with all that shit, aswell as the beginnings of an ugly libel suit materialising in work, I'm insanely grateful for a 4-day weekend even if I do have to face getting old.
