My first blog on SG. Actually, my first blog ever. What, oh, what should it be about. Well I guess since I see myself as a music man, I'll write about a conversation I had the other day and propose a question to anyone who may listening out in cyberspace.
A friend of mine mentioned that Stevie Ray Vaughn was the greatest guitar player ever. Which I had to humbly disagree with. Not that Stevie isn't an amazing guitarist, I just didn't think he could be referred to as the greatest one. Especially next to greats like Keith Richards, David Gilmore, Jimi Hendrix, Randy Rhoads, and Dimebag. That's not to say that any of these are better than the other. Each one has contributed to the progression of Rock and Roll in his on unique way, so to say that one is better than the other is unjustifiable in my eyes. So, my question, can you definitively say that a musician is the greatest at whatever instrument he/she plays?
