Look, I'm here.
My membership here is up for renewal on Friday; undecided yet as to whether I will cancel or not. I don't really have enough free time on my hands anymore, hence the sporadic appearances of late.

Still the badminton season only has another month and a bit to go: a good thing as I have shin splints frown

In much, much more exciting...

I've been bouncing today.

I bounce one way, I bounce the other, I bounce diagonal: I'm Connect 4 in bounce terms.

Much like a Tigger, in fact.

Why the bouncing?

Because it's Spring, I've decided. I'm always reluctant to declare it Spring before the end of February, because February will inevitably strike back late, like a cold version of Liverpool FC, or the icy bastard,...

I think February's fighting back. I could have seen a snowbow yesterday if I'd been able to lift my head against the holwling gale to observe the weirdness of simultaneous snow and sun. I think you might be right though, little buds are starting to peep and the light is better... come on spring!

sorry to hear about your fish.

I'm still racking my brain until i have enough ,usic to call it 'the soundtrack to my life'

I knew Thursday 9th would be rubbish....

First of all, I came home from work to find that my fish, Blimp, had passed away. Mixed emotions really: sad that she'd finally gone, after being with me for 14 years, but pleased that she'd seen out her entire natural life in my pond. She was our first ever baby, and for her to die of old...

So...
I went again. And now I'm back again.
So I think it's a reasonable time to elucidate the things that have annoyed me in the past two weeks:

mad Racial intolerance. Well known son-of-a-Nazi-whore and BNP leader Nick Griffin was filmed last year by an undercover BBC operative (ha!) preaching his own special brand of race hate. Griffin's worst quote was about Muslims: he basically...

Only the guys are arrogant, the ones I met were forever trying to belittle me which I didn't like. I was young and impressionable at first until I realised that way of life wasn't for me. I don't regret it in the slightest though I had fun at the time and at least I can say I tried it and know for sure I didn't like it smile As for going to aussie, well it's a gorgeous country and I family there whom I miss terribley and I'd love to see them after all thats gone on.

Hell yeah! Posters up everywhere that say simple "Vot for Jenny!"...um, why?

Being a personal trainer must be a lot of fun; getting paid for what you would have done anyway!

This is another entry which should probably come with a "rant" warning....

There are many subjects which I feel strongly about, ("too many!" I hear you shout). But the one subject which really gets me spitting fur like an angry cat is that of 'assisted suicide' or euthanasia.

For any of you from the UK who haven't heard, a 66 year old retired doctor has...

I agree they are amazing and fascinating creatures. The term 'sloth' doesn't really do these animals any justice.

Yes...I have been absent. In my defence I've been working like an ant. I've been reading far too much for University, wading through medical files at work, and doing a lot of writing, bith personal and for my website. Coupled with the fact that everyone at my badminton club is injured, meaning I have to play in each and every match...and before you know it,...

Carpe diem! beluga burgers for everyone!

do you start to get vertigo if you think about time too much? we're never still in any one of our four dimentions. telling children to keep still is therefore the most spectacularly futile instruction. they would have to be attached to a temporal Foucault's pendulum, and even then they would not be still relative to the relative (usually parent) doing the telling.

suddenly the Rat Pack's comment about lying on the floor without holding on seems a bit more sensible...

HEALTH WARNING
THIS ENTRY CONTAINS POLITICAL COMMENT. THOSE OF A WEAK DISPOSITION OR A DISLIKE OF POLITICS SHOULD LOOK AWAY NOW.

Last year I wrote two essays on the 'politics of catch-up' and the influence of neo-liberalism (Thatcherism. I'll ease off on the jargon now.)

Basically, it became clear in the early-mid 90s that neo-liberalism had triumphed. The Conservatives under Thatcher seemed to have established...

So the season turns to one of reflection, of looking over our shoulders at the year behind us. And what better way to review the year than in the style of the BBC shipping forecast?

January: Depression rising 6 to 8. Wintry showers decreasing mood by mid-month. Definite cold front detected from Germany.

February: Wave of gastric flu veering in early. Weight decreasing to 10...

But odd and disturbed people actually enjoy beastiality. No one will ever understand why. Or even want to for that matter.

There is no amount of money you could pay me to have sex with a horse. Although it may be a good film. A weird beastiality spin off from Demi Moores "Indecent Proposal" perhaps?

Should pitch it to Spielberg. At least then the horse could be CGI'd and would cause less damage.

Don't know where this came from, I really don't. But I had to write it down:

He held the blade tight in his fist, the pain of the broken skin doing nothing to snap him from his reverie. He stared with a burning passion at his own visage, as if trying to stare down his own reflection. There must be something in the pupils; a...

Hello!
It's getting to that time of the year when vague and fatuous awards are given out willy and indeed, nilly.
So in the greatest tradition, the website I 'work' for are doing their yearly awards for best album, single, live act and compilation. Here are my votes for the top ten albums of the year:

1 Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
2 Rilo Kiley...
