Carrying on from the end of my last blog, have you been maintaining your flame? A good flame needs heat, oxygen and fuel to blaze. With passion and daily gasps for air taken care of, I tend to service my sparks regularly with bacon grease.

Remember last Halloween when I made my first spectacularly unspectacular pumpkin?

Before:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
After (I came back from a working weekend and found this):

I don't know which is more apt for Halloween, the polished before or the more befitting macabre semblance of a pumpkin after maturation. It is, however, rather gross entertaining the idea of keeping these mouldy husks.

Some candids from shoots past:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Tarion and Orijin looking through photos on the camera.

An out-take from a gorgeous new hopeful who will be joining us shortly as soon as I finish editing her set. love

RECENT EPIC SEASIDE HOLIDAY PICTURES!

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Tarion unwrapping the multiple bottles of home-made mead brought on the trip.

Followed by her joyously popping the bubble wrap they came in.

I liked the many local vernacular art pieces in the beautiful beach house we stayed at.

This lamp shows loads of funky well-known South African iconography including Riaan Cruywagen (top left corner although his face is cut off on top - who is synonymous for being our local version of Chuck Norris), Springbok, Marmite, Hansie Cronje, Eet-Sum-Mor, gold and Orlando Pirates amongst other things.

We went to stuff the Lumomunster with sushi for her birthday:

Then we went to watch The Avengers movie after which Lunar just had to have photos on a Hello Kitty ride.

More random photo attack:

Lunar continuing her voyeurism:

Lumo demonstrating some Pilates to Lunar:

Best snuggle buddies:

Lots of geeky card/board games:

Lazying around:

THE COOK-OFF!!!

I orchestrated a cook-off contest between the best cooks we know, PunkSkunk and Cuddlefish. I made an impromptu trophy out of their favourite drink, Guinnesseseses, using masking tape and red nail-polish. There were score sheets and everything! Their contestant names were Spatula of Torment and Skillet of Desire.

MOVING PICTURES - GIF'S

Lunar deciding to try ice-cream with red wine...

...and PunkSkunk joining in on the stupidity!

KITTEN SMITTEN

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Meet the kitty named Moses (aka MoMo) belonging to the aforementioned hopeful I shot with. 7 month old ball of mind-numbing cuteness!

SETS FOR YOUR OPTICAL AND CARDIOVASCULAR ENJOYMENT!

AND HERE WE GO AGAIN...

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I really am not the type of person to bring my gripes into an open forum but this is something that really bugs me to the point where I simply have to bring it up (again). Lunar's latest set has once again received undeserved negative comments with regards to the editing.

Way too much photoshop!

Airbrushed photos are supposed to go against the ethos of SG, but maybe nobody cares about that anymore.

Once again I am forced to pull out before and after pictures to substantiate my argument that these comments are simply unfounded and perhaps personally rooted in their disbelief in the existence of real life angels smile

Through all the changes of life and evolution of character there are few constants in ones life that remains steadfast and true, ardent to its core. For me, one of these things was Space. Since a young age I have always wanted to be an astronaut. A great part of my childhood was spent outside wrapped up in a warm duvet gazing at our universe through a pair of strong binoculars. I had/have a very steady hand and unquelchable determination. Thus the love of sci-fi and curse of being a Trekkie. Even though I've never had a natural inclination towards Maths and Science it still remains a dream. What dreams are crawling around in the crevices of your mind?

What to do for Valentines Day has always been one of those troublesome considerations for me. Society expects us to be seated at a cutlery laden surface cave-lit by a dim fire source as someone who is trying to get into your pants attempts to woo you over the ritualistic mastication of foods. What is for me? My lower half will be playing footsie with the one I love while my upper half kicks ass in the Mass Effect 3 demo being released on Valentines Day. Shared game time will be our gift to each other smile This may sound pathetic but I don't think I've ever been this excited for a Valentines Day love

Cool stuff!

Thank you guys so much for the warm welcome you have shown to the new South African hopefuls Autrum and Vassilis. Hoping to see them on front page soon!

Other sets that I REALLY am dying to see make it to front page!

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Tarion - Wandering Star

Interesting fact #1: poor Tarion was sick for two weeks after the set because it was deathly cold, we shot this in the beginning of winter.
Interesting face #2: this set was technically shot over 2 days, some of the end photos were shot super early the following morning.
Interesting fact #3: during another day before this whilst shooting another set the ocean rushed up to me and mugged me of a flippy flop, whilst we wrapped up this set the special cameo lady at the end of the set stumbled upon another single flippy flop washed ashore; it was not my flippy flop; the Pacific Ocean has a flippy flop fetish.

I am absolutely humbled by the high percentage love and comment count on all of these sets and extremely proud of my South African girls. We do not have many local members on the site so understandably our support base is not quite as large as it could be otherwise but I believe that's what makes us try all that much harder, which is an extremely good thing smile The day you stop trying to produce work that is better than what you've done before is the day your passion dies.

Live Long and Prosper;
and remember to maintain your flame.

***Warning: Picture overload***

Lunar happiness!

Lunar was SO happy when she went pink - we went out to celebrate and managed to get some crappy cellphone pics.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Tarion (right) with our super hot friend FiFi.

Hadess trying to hide from the camera.

Tarion looking super cute and coy.

Lovely Kohana

Lunar re-enacting how she felt when she heard she had gone pink.

Celebration boobs!

Cape Town trip!

I went to Cape Town to shoot some sexy hopefuls whose sets are coming out in July and August (Kisska and Hayle)

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
We went to Vaudeville supper club.

During a shoot on the beach the ocean ate my flippy flops frown It spat one back just to taunt me frown It was new and I hadn't even worn it for more than 2 hours...

We stayed at this amazing place, I didn't really take pictures of the house itself because if you check out their website's gallery you'll find excellent pictures already.

I woke up early in the mornings to feed these birds while waiting for my girls to arrive.

Tarion and Lunar

(Instax)Polaroids

Took a bunch, then took pictures of the pictures. Shampoo helped.

Bread and Butter

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Been super busy with normal photography work as usual, here's a snippet of what I've been up to.

Drakensberg trip!

I'm very much a work in progress but if there's one thing I do know about myself it's that I love my work and hence I'm a workaholic. It was not until I returned from my holiday to the Drakensberg that I actually realised that I could not remember the last time I had a real holiday in the last 4 years or so. We went to visit Tarion's parents who put me and Xaosnyte up in a cosy cottage. Prepare for heavy picture overload (courtesy of PunkSkunk's iPhone).

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
(You will notice that the first and last picture to have come from this trip is both of me eating - thanks PunkSkunk!)

I love my super awesome hoodie!

We had been watching a ton of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Prisoner (original series) so I pulled a prisoner face.

PunkSkunk and Tarion cuddlings

Most epic find, a picture of PunkSkunk and Tarion when they were really young.

Tarion's parents are awesome people - you get to wake up to fantastic music in the mornings such as Zeppelin or classical music. But they have this kinda creepy shrine-like setup by the door with a picture of Tarion atop it. Sweet and creepy. Sweepy?

Making nougat filled pancakes.

Went to the falconry to see them fly owls, falcons, eagles etc.

After filling our bellies with delicious food Xaosnyte and I went hunting for an activity that could potentially make us throw up 'cos that's how we roll. Hamster Ballin' for the win!!! (disclaimer: we did NOT throw up)

Trying on stupid hats when one is on holiday - it's a tradition.

I waited so damn long for these kids to get off my special lion so I could take a retarded picture with him. I think I liked him so much cos he reminded me of my cat Shampoo.

Archery and zip-lining fun.

Eating marshmallows around the fireplace.

Mmmm sexxxay face

Beautiful Vocal Flash Mob

This was quite moving and a nice form of experiential guerrilla marketing.

On a random Saturday morning at Greenacres Shopping Centre in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the international award-winning Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Choir delights unsuspecting shoppers and passers-by with an impromptu practised routine which includes a number of popular songs. The flash mob is part of an awareness campaign to get students to apply to study at NMMU, one of South Africa's leading tertiary education institutions.

Sexy new T&A

Go say hi to these gorgeous hopefuls that will soon have a set out:

Annnnd there's a special set from Tarion coming out soon called The Message. It's a personal part one set of two parts so we're both very excited about the set.

Did anyone wonder what happened exactly one second after this shot was taken?
