About Me
Well hello all! This is an introduction!
Given I haven't written a blod in about a year (I used to about tree times a week when I was in high school), I'm going to be a bit flaky and rough around the edges. Time for eyedrops. So a little about me... I'm in the Army, and I really don't like it. I'd much rather be in debt up to my eyeballs, but getting a decent education and have more than half a dozen friends. Instead, I'm doing essentially nothing and getting paid for it.
Well. Not after today, actually.
I'm an optician. Basically, I screen patients and hand them off to the optometrist (the doctor), and then once they're finished, I get the prescription and either order glasses (if I'm here in the States) or make them myself (if I'm deployed), much like Lenscrafters does.
I'm what one would call an amateur photographer. I've been taking pictures for some 14 years, and though I've yet to bother getting anything published, I could if I tried. I think my folder of pictures on my computer is some 40GB of just... stuff. Sometimes I change the style of my photography - I'll intentionally take artistic photos, or tourist-style photos simply for memories, or portrait photographs, for use in modeling, profile pictures, etc etc. I can do people, landscapes, night, day, macro, micro, filter, black and white, anything. I often don't plan any of my shots. I just know it when I see a shot, and I take it. Coincidentally enough, this is also how I live most of my life. I strongly believe in doing things just for the experience, the memories. Carpe diem.
Dead Poet Society was a good movie. However, I didn't get the idea from there. I got it from not living, and wanting to live. This is a body!
Given that I just had eye surgery about 24 hours ago, reading/typing/whatever is a bit blurry right now. Sorry, ladies - I'm no longer 100% natural. I've got silicone.
