And now for one small answer after that raft of questions.

I do think that individual humans are capable of self-improvement. Whether or not this quality carries over to the entire race I still haven't decided. You'd think there would be a cumulative effect, but it seems like there are offsetting penalties on account of mob consciousness. The cultures and traditions of our ancestors do...

I am not the one that is pregnant. We were discussing a mutual friend that he had treated poorly because she had been "knocked up".

What is human awareness moving towards? Are we as a species essentially different today than we were a thousand years ago? As technology allows us to communicate across the world at light speed, the feedback loop of the human psyche gets shorter and more intense. Gonna stick a comment on here just to say I wish I had more time to write journal entries that aren't lame. frown Also, I find that the more time I spend logged on here, the more time I'm spending in the "community" part and the less time looking at these delectable women. Not sure what that says about me, but there you go.

Dude, that happens to everybody... well, the majority anyway. "Come for the girls, stay for the community" should be the unofficial slogan of SG. Lots of cool and interesting people here. smile

Snowboarding was a blast, for me anyway. No other SG'ers turned out, but the people I went with had a good time. That will be happening again in March if your interested in $10 lift tickets.
oldskoolpat:

mine is graduating college with honors last year, in spite of some setbacks, like losing my little brother in a car accident and my ex leaving me my junior year a week before finals.

I guess there's not much doubt that the recent tsunami catastophe is the worst disaster in my lifetime. It's hard to comprehend the extent of the destruction. Last night on the Web I saw some amateur video of the wave hitting -- bizarre and sinister, like the ocean just wouldn't stop coming in.

Quantus tremor est futurus,
quando judex est venturus,
cuncta stricte discussurus.

I...

Could just be deeply-rooted positive associations, but I'm thinking that "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (as written by Dr. Seuss, animated by Chuck Jones, narrated by Boris Karloff, and sung by Thurl Ravenscroft) is the pinnacle of achievement in western culture in the last 40 years. At least as far as Christmas is concerned.

Bumhug! biggrin Happy holidays.
