Three exams down, one to go.
I must be getting old. I was planning to throw an end-of-finals party Thursday night, complete with dead hookers and snorting coke off the blade of a knife, then said screw it, my son's been starved for parenting since I started studying for finals a month ago, so I think I'm just going to rent a movie from Tower and order dinner in, spend some quality time with the boy.
And then have the party Friday night.
Friday morning, I get to do something I haven't done in a long, long time. I'm covering someone's show on my school's radio station. One of the last bastions of real college radio left. "On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to rock and roll..." That is our motto.
So I was lying on my dining room floor the other night, looking up at the ceiling, which (history lesson) was the tenth domed ceiling ever built in the U.S. (right after the Louisiana purchase), is said to be the room in which Andrew Jackson planned the battle of New Orleans (and Pat O'Brien planned the Bottle of New Orleans), where Sherwood Anderson and William Faulkner used to drink, and which is now painted like a sky, and I noticed that the colored Christmas lights which are strung up to illuminate the room are hung in the shape of a pentagram (we have no central lighting, so the former tenant put up christmas lights and paper lanterns). Wacky.
