Well, I figure it's finally time to make the update to end all updates. I've been living in indy for about a month now, and I haven't really said much about what was going on in an equivilent amount of time. My life changed really rapidly it seemed, and I'm still trying to figure out where I stand and where I'm going.

The other day...

DETROIT!

What two items?
jonalcoholic:
the 2nd, kick ass. How much were the tickets? I'll look into getting them asap.

Wow, given that we got internet installed in my house this last wednesday, I still haven't really been online a helluva lot. =/ Meh, the internet is highly overrated anyways. I'l prolly try to swing and update and whatnot in a few days....

Ugh, still no net access at the house. Apparently, companies in this city believe that it is perfectly reasonable to sell you a 40$/mo cable TV subscription as a prerequisite to buy a 10$/mo cable modem.... which ordinarily, I wouldn't mind dealing with, but paying 40 bucks a month for cable is mildly irritating when you don't even own a television....

Anyways, life here has...

Whoooo!

Ok, I've been offline for a long time, thanks to moving and a bunch of other crap. But alas, I return, once again triumphantly surfing SG at work! (Actually, I almost got caught on my first day... as much as I love Snow's ass, it does not need to be on the front page).

Anyways, graduation went fine. Got to spend some good time...

I'm in an SGI centric environement that is migrating to linux with a dash of OS X. I ported our only Sun-centric application (Philips SunSpec 1, circa 1989-1992, it's used to view magnetic resonance spectroscopy data from Philips Gyroscan MRI scanner) to Mac OS X this week. The linux port suffered from problems that may have been related to endian-ness, the G4 is big-endian so hopefully that'll get rid of one platform...

oh well.. 2 weeks is ok smile
my puppy is a mutt but she rules.. io think shes part like 3 things. shes a fat little ball of cuddly white fur with big black spots.

My parents are coming into town tomorrow, so I'm probably not going to be online much this weekend...

Anyways, today was realllly long. A friend of mine almost OD'd on a rather large combination of soma and xanex.... he blacked out for about a half hour, but fortunately, he came down and they didn't have to take him to the ER (I was not there...

Hey Sqooky! Just stoppin in to say HELLO. biggrin

Wow, today was really rowdy. I got a lot of stuff done in everything that I wanted to take care of. I at least got around to cleaning my car (goooo vanilla air freshener), frantically trying to remove all spots of incriminating grime before my family gets here.

I'm due to pick them up from the airport on Friday... I talked to my sister today,...

Too long. I think my penis is about to shrivel up and fall off from lack of use. Like my body is about to reject it as some sort of useless appendage.
whatever

Where are you going? For how long? Did I miss something in my weeks without the iBook?? confused

Umm... it's been several days, but not quite a week.

So, I finally accomplished my goal of going to a really weird church in my town. I showed up 10 minutes late, and was surprised to recognize at least two people there from school and around town. The sermon was this big scary lecture about how we're all going to die, and then the pastor sharply trasitioned it into a happy hymn about Jesus. At...

I went to the Parc de la Jacques Cartier. It's a nice provincial park near Quebec City. We camped and hiked in the Laurentians range.
fred:

Does your new cult allow you to talk about it?
Do we have to call in the de-programmers already?

One of my closest friends is leaving tomorrow. I will see him on graduation, but probably not much after that. We're taking the day off today to hang out.

And thus, here shall end the infamous hippie quarter. What a rowdy two months it's been....

Nah, I live here, born here....But I have National Guard drill this weekend..

Hey, we should have a huge party in Indy when we get settled in. Just an idea.

Ugh, my retarded XP machine just crashed again and nuked my journal entry I was working on. As soon as I move, I'm switching that fucker back to linux.... I had 90+ day uptime streaks on that, and it's crashing at least once a day now. What a fucking ripoff... at least I only blew 5$ on the XP license.

Anyways, today was really monumental,...

Dude I don't know if this cult you're talking about is funny or scary, but check this out:

Yup college grad is a big step.
Think of it this way. You're better armed with the means to do whatever it is you want to do. Part of that is about making money since it's required for general living type stuff, but as a computer dude the cool thing is you can get paid to things that you like.

You know, my XP laptop hasn't crashed once. I haven't seen a single bluescreen since I got it in December. Then again, I did my customary tweak-it-all-to-hell thing before I started actually using it...

I realized something very strange yesterday. It occurred to me that I am the subject of a mass conspiracy to turn me into a yuppie. For some reason, my parents, my friends, my relatives are all convinced that now that I'm out of school and working, I will somehow be grown up and whatnot. It seems as if my life was meant to fall into...

Sorry for not updating/posting/being around and whatnot. This weekend was rather action packed, to say the least.

Friday was incredible, even if I did only sleep one hour during the next two days. I don't think I can watch television again after that experience for awhile.... everything strikes me as way too subliminal and creepy now.

The next night a good friend of mine threw...

I think we get more cigarettes per pack than in the US, but a good third of the price or more is taxes.

Not sure about what portion of the cost of cigs are taxes and so forth, but I do now that they're way cheaper in the eastern provinces.

Ugh, I just got back from the worst lunch break ever. About halfway through the sacred luncheon hour, I got a phone call from our landlord saying an out of town couple was looking at our apartment, and they were going to be by immediately to check it out. I asked the lady to give me like 20-30 minutes before coming by, so I could...
