Haven't personally blogged in years...wanted to talk about music thou. Part of my inital reason for joining SG, other than seeing some fantastic photography, was to find a some musicians to begin a project with since I was new to the San Francisco area. There are a ton of guys who play instruments here but that didn't pan out. However, over the past few months I've met new folks and found some old friends who have musical talent. So I'm not looking anymore, I'm helping build 2 bands.
Both are completely different. But both are still missing one piece to the puzzle. The first is a heavy group kinda like Hot Water Music, Sparta, Snapcase, Rival Schools, Bear vs Shark, These Arms are Snakes...well you probably get the idea. The band is there, but we need a regular singer. If you know of anyone in the SF area, preferably someone who plays guitar and sings. We're not too big on the frontman thing, although we'll try em out too. If you know anyone please feel free to reply. If not let me know what you think of the music.
The other band is an indie group that finds inspiration in 50s to 70s music and new indie. I can only describe it as dark Beatles music with a bit of blues and doowap shit in there. It's a complete departure from the other music above. It's bouncy, fun, twisted and poppy kinda like The Teeth. We have a songwriter who plays guitar and I play bass. We recently found a drummer. We are new, and churning out about 1 song per week and momentum keeps going.
Goodbye Nautilus Music
