I've had to reset my sleep schedule every few weeks for years as well. Although I never did before around 1996. I always could go to sleep no problem. It wasn't until recently that I realized that around that time coincided with when I started using computers heavily and had one running inside my room all the time. As time went on one computer turned into 3 er 4. The other people who live in the house with me had their own computers as well and we basically installed a corporate network with the server, router, and switch in my room. After the wireless router was put in here, within a few months, my schedule just got rediculously out of hand.
Like I says it wasn't until recently that I realized that it was all the multitudes of EMF blasting around that was keeping me up. Once I did I moved the server out into the garage and cleared out all electronic devices with the exception of my keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers. All wired, no wireless peripherals at all. The wires go through a small hole in the wall. I also put the wireless router and network switches on the other side of the house from me now. Since I've done that my schedule is consistent as can be. I, in fact, wake up without an alarm clock in the morning right when I want to.
I still don't get tired in the same way I do when I sleep on my boat that's moored in the middle of the harbor though. On there I get super tired as soon as the sun goes down. Out there there's no electronic anything (with the exception of my toughbook playing mp3s). Not even power lines like are strung through the walls of your house. Without a ton of EMF blasting into me, I go to sleep and wake up with the sun. Within minutes to hours.
Damn. Our tree is still up too, but it's a fig tree and it's always up. I missed the smell of a really pine tree this last xmas but the fig is just so cool. Island life is getting cold and rainy now. Say hi to the missus, hope you're both well.
