I think I could fall in love 50 times a day on this site -- if I had the time. (I don't.)
I appreciate the variety here ... so much natural beauty ... such different expressions of that beauty via the photo sets.
It's as if every visit back here rewards me with a new discovery ... someone I haven't seen before, someone who captures my imagination and moves me.
I'll always be partial to my true favorites, but I feel blessed to have the opportunity to get to know so many other captivating souls through their photos.
So ... bottom line ... thanks to all of the SGs and hopefuls for sharing your beauty and artistry with us.

I've been away for six months or so, and, eager to see what my friends and favorite SGs have been up to, I decided to take advantage of a cut-rate special and rejoin. You can't put a price on a Rigel photo set, after all.
The more things change, the more they remain the same. It's been enjoyable to see the beauty and artistry reflected in the photo sets, and I've appreciated the opportunity to read recent blogs.
That said, I'm saddened that some of my friends no longer seem active here. It's strange how you can develop a link with someone, even through blogs or an exchange of messages -- so much so that when you return from a hiatus you experience a sense of loss that they're gone.
To all my friends ... I hope your summer's off to a good start, that you feel stimulated by life, and that the storms of life aren't blowing you away.

I've decided to end my subscription to SG.
It's not you, it's me.
I've enjoyed my time here, but I'm finding myself less and less engaged by the site, and I don't have the time to devote myself in a way that will yield meaningful relationships that compel me to stay.
I think this site is a terrific concept. That said, I wish the photo sets weren't so predictable. There's a Groundhog Day quality about the shoots now — at least for me — save for the occasional delight, courtesy of Rigel, AnnaLee or another of the beauties who've captivated me.
But it's been fun, and I'm pleased I was able to experience the site for a few months and enjoy its content.
So carpe diem and all that. Peace to all of you, and here's hoping you have a great 2010 and beyond.

I don't know if hell froze over, too, but it just started snowing in Austin, Texas -- the lightest flakes you've probably ever seen ... as if someone threw some speckles of dust from above, and they're floating down, dancing to the gusts of wind.
Austin never gets snow ... well, rarely. So this is quite a surprise. If the intensity picks up, I imagine the city will declare a state of emergency and shut down. We don't do cold very well down here. A couple of years ago, we had an ice storm of sorts, and it took three days before the university re-opened.
Since I'm originally from the north, I enjoy watching the locals' reaction to such weather, which northerners likely wouldn't blink an eye at. When the weather drops into the 50s here, people break out the scarves, sweatshirts, and jackets. The first weekend I was in Austin ... going back a ways ... temps had dropped to the mid-60s (after several weeks of 80- and 90-degree weather), and a friend of mine had to call AAA for a battery charge. (He had an old battery.) When the tow-truck driver arrived, he attributed the battery's failure to "the cold spell."
Anyway, I'd better start searching for my sled. Enjoy the weekend, everyone.
