Disco disco cool cool. Last night was the MSI concert. Good show but the excitement started we (Amanda and I) even got to the show. While we were driving to the show, I noticed some dudes driving like a crazy person. There was a dude hanging halfway out the back window, one tire was all wobbly and they would speed up and slam on the brakes behind people. Every time I thought I lost them, they would be right there. It was one of those times when you actually want a cop to be around. So we got to the show (snickering at a kid with their mom going in the show). We missed the first opener (no tears here) and the second opener was in the middle of their set. They had a keyboard player who was trying his best to rock out. Then he busted out the keytar, and I knew he was cool. While waiting for MSI to come on, all I was doing was people watching. One think I'll always say about a show like this is, you can wear anything, no one cares. There was a girl in a very Rainbow Briteish bikini and a guy(?) girl(?) who was like 7 feet tall wearing super boots. I asked Amanda how many of these kids have disappointed parents sitting at home. I never really got the Goth thing. When I was in high school the Grunge thing was the "it" thing. While we had the early Goth thing, it was more underground, it was more early Emo than anything. Kids dressed in all black, listening to the Cure. And I couldn't be a modern Goth because there are a few "types" and none of those types are me. You have the 'leather Goth' who dresses in tight leather pants and I couldn't do that, too hot. You have the 'dapper Goth' who dresses in black suits or Victorian garb like they came out of an Ann Rice novel. Too stuffy for me. And you have the 'mesh, fishnet Goth' who wear fishnet stockings on their arms and things like that. I would look too silly. And I'm too old to be Goth, I'm able to legally drink. But they're always fun to look at, guys and girls wearing things they probably shouldn't. anyway, the show. Mindless...

You have Jimmy Urine (lead singer) who has more on stage energy than I've ever seen. The entire show he's running around from one end of the stage to the other. Only stopping in-between songs to make fun of the crowd. Mocking them for having to call their moms to pick them up after the show. You also have Kitty (drummer) who spends the entire show with a odd little smile on her face. And Lyn-Z (bass) who more or less spends most of the show on one side of the stage, bending over backwards. Cool. And last but not least, you have Steve Righ? (yes the question mark should be there. Guitar). He's a show in and of himself. He started off fine but quickly turned. He disappeared for a few songs, just wandered off the stage. One song he just stood there with one hand on the neck of the guitar and drinking something with the other. Another song he was sitting on a chair while wrapping his guitar in a support rope, hitting it every now and then. One thing I noticed about MSI shows is that there are almost more girls than guys, which is weird for a rock show. Anyway, good show. Amanda, if I forgot anything, let me know.
