It's purely coincidence that the day i finally write another entry here is exactly a year from the last and so it's once again Queens Birthday long weekend AND it's raining again ...!!
So , so much for the drought.!
Another year older and deeper in debt .. although my dreams of Island Paradise seem about to be born , as i have found a beautiful Island where they used to breed the horses for the Indian Army [ the Raj Indian , not the USA indians ..}..and where the seafood is from the most pristine waters in the world , with huge lobsters and crayfish , dozens of varieties of fish , and of course the dreaded Great White Shark ...mmmmm !
I am planning on building a wonderful Yurt for my residence ...9.5 metres [ 30feet] in diameter , with various openings etc , including a wood burning stove for warmth and cooking during the Winter months . The land runs down onto a long deserted beach and on the other side of the island ,across a hilly spine is another amazing outlook , with 600 foot cliffs that plunge to the Ocean beneath .. handy if i get bored with life , or if any debt collectors come looking for me..ha ha ! ..
Amazingly enough I am allowed to have cats and dogs and my own chookies [ cant wait for my OWN eggs }., as there is a species of mammal living their ..the Betong [ golden tailed , i think] ..anyhow it only exists on this small island , having been eaten or killed on the Mainland. .. just like the Aboriginals !!!..
Also there are Emus , our national emblem bird ..[ Australians are the only race who eat the animals on their National Coat of Arms..ie. Kangaroos and Emus] , Emu are a huge bird , like the Ostrich and they run at a great rate , and peck and kick you with their formidable beaks and BIG feet...if they are pissed off that is ..Bounding around the beach are sweet little Wallabies , who will attempt to make my agricultural life one of difficulty by jumping over my fences around the vegetable garden and eating all my delicious Rocket and root vegetables.

Numerous other species also of quite rare Fauna are found there , and as half of the Island is a National Park , i am surprised that they allow domestic animals ..especially cats , although our cat is a huge fatso [ Tattoo ]..who opens the cupboard himself to pull out boxes of Whiskas , or tins of other food later in the day ...and if you ignore him , he drags the box LOUDLY around the kitchen floor and then sits on it with his prodigious fat arse and squashes the box , sticking his fat hand down the food spout , hooked like a spoon to scoop out a mitfull of dried star shaped , chicken,duck,lamb flavoured delicacies , all the time with this twisted look of impertinence and glee on his furry dial ,at having achieved his goal , WITHOUT human assistance.
So i can see him joining the ranks of the obesity club , and knocking off my fish when my head is turned., camouflaging himself with a monster lobster shell and creeping closer to the succulent Schnapper , steaming in Ginger and Soy , ready for the mitt from outa nowhere , and a flight of hot fish disappearing over the sand dune , whilst i casually wash my chopsticks in the Sea.!!...
I may have to build him his own mini yurt , where i can inprison him and torment him after he has been bad ..by surrounding it with empty Whiskas boxes and fish skeletons ..unfortunately he is shrewd enougjh and so much the born actor ,that his oscar winning performances of near death would soon have me rushing to his aid.!!
Sometimes i think I could HATE him .. and he knows it ..and out comes the coquettish , puuuurrring , smoothe loving Tattoo....just long enough to be fed again !
Anyhow ,Mr LOVE .. poor old Billy our wonderful faithful old Chocolate Kelpie , probably wont be an Islander , as he is well and truly on his last legs ..with Arthritis , blindness and deafness reducing his life to one of total indulgence , luxury and disgraceful pleasure , on a diet of his favourite roast chicken and vegetable pastas and the odd morsel of cake and bickies....not bad for a 16 year old , gorgeous love filled friend .
It will be a strange change from living in the big city of Sydney ... on an island ALL ALONE ..except [ i think] for a caretaker of an area they call 'The Homestead' which is the old original residence of the former Horse Stud...I am sure most people will think i am crazy ..[ probably am ] .. but i want to try to finish a book of short stories and other things which living in this town where you need a fucking fortune just to live is simply too depressing and exhausting ... I have had all the good days here ..now i want peace.
My son Sam , who is now 18 [ and a half !!] .will stay on in Sydney and hopefully come and stay occassonally ..I am sure he secretly cant wait for me to piss off and take over the pad ... the mind boggles what will occur then ~..but i'll have a base to stay when i please as i will have to come back here sometimes as well .. although i am busy trying to find work in Adelaide , South Australia , closer to my Treasure Island Paradise ..and maybe i can sell some fresh seafood to Restaurants there in future and glean some sand dollars from the Sea ..

Yurts make great studio spaces as well .. there is something about a circular space that is very pleasing.. and peaceful...and hopefully creative.. as i love to paint , and sculpt etc....probably grow old swinging in a hammock , but then again ..thats probably okay as well.
No wonder few major achievements in Life came out of the Tropics , although this place is not in the Tropics , but does have a reasonably mild climate...all i need now is some delightful warm skinned beauty to keep me effervescing and company ...even just on weekends ..before i end up like Tom Hanks in that movie .. where a soccer ball becomes a persona ...to maintain sanity.
So , thats whats happening in my world .. any delicious SG girls who want to do a desert island shoot , are welcome ... maybe i could open it up as a runaway retreat for vagrant , creative SGs...mmmm , the mind is boggling !! ..No item of clothing larger than a dollar coin shall be allowed to be worn , only a glimmer of sand and a suntan to be the uniform of freedom...gggrrrrrr..!!!
