Yeeeaaah, I'm gonna need you to come in on Saturday...

But I was supposed to go hiking on Saturday.

Yeeeeah, that's not gonna happen. In fact, why don't you go ahead and come in on Sunday, too.

So much for my weekend.

In better news, the car looks great.

Thank you! Also sorry your weekend got ruined. I know the feeling all too well.

As great as it was and as much of a masterpiece it is, the best film I've seen this year was Io sono l'amore.

I've had no luck finding the som'bitch who banged into my car this past week, although the F150 that used to park next to me is nowhere to be seen. Suspicious, no? Not like I can prove anything anyway. On the plus side, the insurance company pays for my rental car - in his case, a Mercedes C300 Sport. That definitely softens the blow.

In...

Sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar.

My little sister is New Orleans bound, hoping to volunteer on the Gulf. Actually there are plenty of people who want to volunteer, it seems, but apparently it requires some training to work with the animals, luckily she has it. Go Katie!

In other news, there was another round of cuts - I'm sorry, restructuring - at my company. So much for my plans to...

I've always loved that song and will throw the cd in my car stereo now and then.

Shooting things would make me feel better smile

Yeah, it is completely frustrating. In some cases I realize that I want to emote and get feed back, and then I remember, yeah, there is a reason to avoid talking outside of ones head. wink

~cheers

And now, Bay to Breakers.

Well I'm glad I went the extra mile for Prom; when random passers by on the street stop to say "May the Force Be With You", I must be doin' it right.

It was good to see everyone. A special thanks to Subrosa, Necia, and Timmy, for their excellent choice on dinner.

I know. I felt like someone had kicked my puppy after reading that book as a kid.

I hate tear jerkers.

You are writing, and I'm writing too, slowly. Very slowly.

There's an I Ching app for Android. In one sense I find this really amusing, but in a way it makes sense; as a form of divination, the preferred method for casting I Ching hexagrams has changed many times over the centuries.

The ravages of illness have not dulled my appreciation for Lost. They have, however, made me realize that life is too short to...

Yeah, I haven't been too active on here in a while. I'm not sure who would hang out at prom with me, besides you. See you IRL, hopefully. smile

Thanks for the wisdom! You are right. I just need to (and am) let(ting) it all go. Whoosh.

We decided to move, so that will help alot. I am going to go out and do activities I like to do. That will result in meeting people over time. This town just IS transient scholarly folk, so time to move it along.

If I weren't sick, there's no way I would sit through X-Men: The Last Stand again.

Getting really si - I mean, tired, of picking up every rhinovirus on Earth, every damn year.

So what goes on? Still looking for a house, still frustrated by the interminable bullshit of short sales and foreclosures (but, if you're looking in this end of the market, that's where the action is.) Lost on the last one, which was fairly frustrating, seeing as the seller didn't bother to tell us we lost until oh, twelve days later.

In geek matters, finally finished...

The AZ law makes me psychotic. At this point I think it is a wise political strategy to just tear the faces off the enemy. Clearly logic isn't working. Big sigh.

I want to see that film quite a bit, and I don't have kids. And I'm not a kid at heart. It just looks cool.

Yay prom excitement. Unfortunately, I suck.
rchaversackjones:
well, sorry about the house. you'll get the right place eventually.

as for avatar, huzzah! i love that last episode! the music, the emotion, and all from an animated series. can't wait for the movie.

These may be the most astounding natural photos I have ever seen.

One could be forgiven for thinking that Thor was fighting Surtr up there.

In other news, my Prom costume is complete. And yes, it is more geeky than you can possibly imagine.

Well, I needed a big introduction.
Yep, syntax matters, so, so much.

Wait Prom? What did I miss?

My work computer was infected by the mack daddy motherfucker of all trojans today. No, I wasn't surfing the gutters of the internetz, this started with a javascript exploit that made its way into an ad on one of the news sites I frequent. To this you might say, well that's why I use NoScript. Yeah, I agree, and yet somehow, the existence of NoScript...

If you don't want me to work on a Saturday, hire me some fucking staff.

In other news: the conventional wisdom is that Bond movies got silly when Roger Moore took over. To this I say: have you seen Diamonds Are Forever recently? It's ridiculous.

That is all.

The entire concept of Bond is silly so I don't know what the conventional wisdom is smoking.

Metaphor, schmetaphor. A pulley would do me worlds of good right now. smile

The mold idea is making sense to me. I am in a new office this semester - windowless, airless and generally stagnant. I would not be surprised if numerous living things were populating the badness in the walls.

Somehow, until tonight, I avoided the steaming pile of pretentious rubbish that is Guy Ritchie's film, Revolver. But sadly, I somehow also avoided the many, many reviews that would have warned me off.

I can count the movies I have walked out of/ shut off on one hand. I sat through The Brown Bunny, for fuck's sake. But I had to hit the Stop button...

I'm not surprised no one got it. Most of what happened in the world before 1992 is a complete mystery to most of our generation i think....
