It's Saturday night, and I had to call it early due to too much fun today:
The CC breakfast was great, except for me arriving an hour and a half late, just in time to see everybody except for Xanderphreak leave for the zoo. D'ough!!!
The Como Zoo was fun, even though we suck that saying goodbye to each other. We ended it like a bunch of highschoolers! But, it was good to meet new people (to me), and to see some familar faces.
After this, off to the Blue Nile to get my credit card which I discovered that the waiter from Friday night had forgotten to give back. Then, to the Oak Street Cinema for "The Last Word", a locally made film starring musicans Matt Wilson and John Munson from the Flops (plus Semisonic and Trip Shakespeare), and Mary Lucia (Rev 105 fame). Unfortunately, it wasn't that good, but entertaining enough to watch these local heroes fumble through a clumsy plot, bad digital video lighting, and cheesy acting (except for a few who did a pretty good job.
Next, Mark Mallman's CD release show at First Avenue. i got there in time to see the second set frrom the Le Cirque Rouge burlesque show, and was dissapointed to find that I could actually want partically naked ladies to GO AWAY!! When they sang, they were offpitch, except for one lady who was an awesome torch singer. The stripping was.....not that good. I'm not basing this on how turned on I was, but just the fact that their rhytm was way off, and it looked clumsy. Kristin agreed with me when she saw one of the dancers, later, join Mallman on stage for a song, and she moved around in a very non-sexy manner.
Mallman was alright. For some reason, he didn't do it for me tonight. I usually love seeing him.
After that, gf went to a party, and I came home to watch...um...more Transformers.
Other than this, I'm healthy again. The fractured toe is halfway healed. I've got a lot of work to make up for my classes that I missed this week.
Sorry for this boring journal, I'll try and be "deep" tomorrow!
