-i'm not a morning person. i ease into the day, with my set routiene. press snooze button on clock radio for half an hour. struggle out of bed, into clothes, down hallway, slump at table, eat weetbix. ride or drive to work, have cup of tea, then, and only then i might be ready to converse with another human being. any time before that,...

just when i think some guy on ebay has ripped me off, i am awoken by a cheery double ring on my old style doorbell and there he is wearing his 80's wrap around oakleys, short shorts and a grin, and holding a box of records. what a way to start the day.

just got home from a reasonably large night of eating and drinking. first stop was dinner at jazzushi, the combo jazz and sushi joint in surrey hills, which is not nearly as good as it sounds. around the table there were 11 people, 5 couples and me. two of whom are ex-girlfriends sitting with their new fiances. there was literally 10 people in couples...

i would have thought it'd be kind of defiant, like fuck you hurricane we can still party...
It was like that, but there was also an air of sadness that seems unshakable. Everyone's a luttle quieter, a little more tired-looking, you know? I'm very torn about it, but I suppose I was when I lived there before the hurricane. I had a love/hate relationship with the city, as I've said many times before. And now I feel in part that I should have stayed, and I do want to go back and live there again. I think mostly that the sentiment is sincere, although no doubt influenced by the fact that I absolutely hate where I'm living now. However, another part of me feels like I've left, I'm gone, and I don't have a place there anymore. It's a very confounding matter, to say the least.

well don't tell me you were outside the show and get me all excited and then say you didn't go in! it doesn't matter anyway because the people i was with hate fashion people and we were only there for five minutes. but the important thing was that if you went you would have seen the neckpiece up close and if you slid your eyes a little to the bottom right you would have seen a little red sticker that meant the piece sold. exciting, huh? and all you got was a kiss on the cheek!
i went to the zoo today. it was neat to see the animals but it was depressing too because some of the animals looked bored and their surroundings unnatural.
