It was a beautiful feeling to wake this morning and know that the supreme court ruled in favor of marriage equality for 5 states including here in Indiana. But I will admit that I was disappointed in the headlines of todays paper that screamed out in big bold letters "GAY MARRIGE LEGAL AGAIN". Even though this ruling brings the states who recognize this equality to 24, and brings to the forefront another 6 states who will soon follow suit, I look forward to the day that the merit of people will supersede their sexuality, ethnicity, or religious views and we can all focus on the person. The best feeling for me is that good friends will now have the same rights as everyone else and we can start to see each other on the same level. The best feeling is that my two aunts, whom both have tremendous hearts and love for each other, who were married in another state, will now have the same rights at home as they have abroad. Thank you everyone who have supported this equality and have waited patiently and fought hard for this day. For those opposed? Take a deep breath and look around. Churches didn't explode, the economy didn't tank, the sun will still rise, and politicians will still exploit us... the world has not broken open nor has it ripped itself asunder. Life will continue. Today is a good day. Congrats to all for equality!!
