Ever since late july there's been talk of Brock Lesnar returning to WWE.This interested me cause i'm a big fan of Lesnar.up until about 8/2 it looked like he was sure to return.
Then WWE.com threw a curveball at me saying "After coming to a verbal agreement,Brock Lesnar has withdrawn from any involvement with WWE". During an interview with lesnar he stated "I want to make a comeback.Vince(mcmahon)and i vented but now i think things are good.I hope everyone wants to see a comeback", Indeed i do.After WWE made the post of lesnar withdrawing,there was no statement as of why?normally somebody would've gotten an interview with brock and we would've found out what happend.Nothing of the sort.
Instead there hasn't been one story about it.
So here's my theory. As of brock's departure WWE made brock a ghost.Any accomplishment made by brock was erased. Randy Orton's title reign was soley for the purpose of bestowing the label of "youngest wwe champion in history".Lesnar held that distinction before he left. also early 05,there was a Matt Morgan who used lesnar's F-5 finishing maneuver against the big show throwing him through an announce table.The announcers Michael Cole and Tazz really tried to stress that "nobody in HISTORY has punished the 500 lbs big show like that".when lesnar had many memorable matches with show doing the exact same thing.this was during lesnar's lawsuit against wwe. Now,lately there have been pictures of lesnar on wwe.com .One where he appears on the history of summerslam banner.another most recently he's pictured with rey mysterio and shawn michaels as part of their "match jukebox" feature. they also add one of lesnar's most memorable matches.vs the undertaker in a hell in a cell.probably an atempt to remind the fans how great he was and peak their interest in the performer.Now knowing vince he wouldn't promote a wrestler he wasn't in dealings with.One day WWE is trying to erase lesnar the next his image is on the website not even a month after negotiations "breakdown".Even announcer Michael Cole acknowledges calling great moments of Lesnar's career,1)when he superplexed big show off the top rope and collapsed the ring.2) His matches with Kurt Angle.
In my opinion this is work by WWE and i'll be seeing Lesnar back on WWE programming very very soon. either on friday night smackdown or the premier of RAW on USA network. I hope i'm right.

My Slipknot Appreciation entry
Everybody metal head has that one band that they absolutely love.
You got your ,Sabbath's,Slayer's,Priest's,Maiden's,Pantera's ,
Metallica's,Megadeth's etc...and so on.
For me it's Slipknot.Slipknot is my fucking band. I've loved their stuff from day one. I didn't even know what the hell i was buying at first.I had seen an ad for their debut in a "hit parader" or something like that. At first i thought it was a horror movie ad.then i saw "Slipknot" on the shelf of a local cd store and i was like "oh it's music ,not a movie" What made grab it was the cover. how creepy it was at first. So i grabbed it bought it went home put that shit in and then the opening track. I didn't know what the hell to think at first then as the final few seconds of track one wound down "the whole thing i think is sick,the whole thing i think is sic" and then I was introduced to some of the most brutal ,unrelenting music i had ever heard.the opening to (SIC) had me wanting to demolish motherfuckers.then eyeless.and so forth. I became their biggest fan after that.still am.
"IOWA" helped me through probaby the hardest time of my life to date.only Slipknot brought me comfort. then i started seeing all types of different assholes wearing slipknot shirts even little wanabe gang banger's.that pissed me off.bunch of assholes hear "wait and bleed" and their supposed to be fans.Those are probably the same pricks that talk shit about them today.
Yeah,Slipknot came out at the height of the whole nu/rap metal fad but obviously that shit is dead and Slipknot is very much alive and kicking ass. Slipknot i feel was unfairly lumped in with all those gay ass nu metal bands.
I've seen Slipknot live 2 times.Once at Ozzfest 2004 and Once on their HEADLINING TOUR with LAMB OF GOD and SHADOWS FALL.One HELL of a fucking show.
I love Vol.3.
There's nothing wrong with melody in metal or an acoustic song.I like the evolution in their sound. I love alot of other bands too.
I do appreciate the black,death,grind,gore,doom metal as well seeing how that's what influenced alot of today's NEW metal including Slipknot.but i can only take so much demon barking and the million mile per hour drum beats (e.g. cannibal corpse,hate eternal,necrophagist,deicide,morbid angel,nile etc...)these bands are good but if i buy one of their records i'll probably give it two good listens then neglect it. but i like the bands that use that sound as a base and build upon it like a beautiful work of metal architechture.(the ol' NWOBHM also has much influence on today's metal and alot of nordic and swedish metal)
As far as the whole slipknot v. burger king case goes.I fuckin support them whole heartedly.Anybody who payed attention to the fucking commercial and LOOKED at the masks can see it. There's no resemblance to GWAR whatsoever.Musically I see much resemblance Between Coq Roq and GWAR.(chicken fries and meat sandwich)they sing about food.

I think Slipknot is far superior but that's just my opinion.GWAR is all stage show.Slipknot doesn't need a bunch of props and fake blood to electrify.They don't interrupt the onslaught of mayhem with retarded skits.Slipknot never said they pioneered the whole dressing up onstage shit. They simply declined burger king's offer to push their lousy ass food.There is no issue of Slipknot vs Gwar or Slipknot vs Mushroomhead. Burger King wanted a major band to endorse their product. They couldn't get one.Especially the one they wanted most.That probably chapped Bk's ass. Burger King as well as most other junk food distributors are trying to reach the youth demographic as well as the 18-25.The most popular forms of music among those demographics are Hip Hop and Metal. BK's all squared away on the hip hop ad. I applaud the guy's in slipknot for their course of action.Not only is it a slap in the face of Slipknot but a spit in the face of all that is metal. For BK to insinuate that Coq Roq plays heavy metal music really pisses me the fuck off.
Slipknot has made it possible for alot of bands that are truly heavy to have some fucking exposure and success.
kids who hear slipknot like it that makes them more interested in other heavy bands.than they learn of the origins of metal.Slipknot as of late has given bands like Lamb of God(who i also love),Shadows Fall,Otep,Devil Driver,American Head Charge, and this fall ,As I Lay Dying and Unearth chances to play at enourmous venues in front of millions that these bands might have never been able to. Slipknot has taken these bands out of the shitty dive bars and V.F.W. halls and given them the spotlight these bands know it and they appreciate the opprotunity.While naysayers on the internet can post all the negative shit they want, it just goes to show how much they're doing with their own bands.and fans that always say "aw man they're selling out",don't have the slightest fucking clue as to what selling out is.Why is making money off something you love to do "selling out".Yeah,Slipknot are sell outs,they sell out each and every venue they play at.
I love metal. To me metal is more than satan,fire,dragons and what not. I feel that no topic is off limits in metal.if you want to write an enire album about *cough* Moby Dick,great.if you want to write about pain and mental anguish go for it.american history.civil war or war in general.some psycho running down the street.happiness and good times(gasp).the impending doom of man.I myself would like to make an album all about the mythological greek gods,deities,heros and monsters.
