Apologies for the lack of updates, it's been a real stressful time for me. I won't get into the gritty details of it all but I've been super stressed out and probably drinking more than I should.
Anyways, I guess the next big thing that's coming up is Comic Con. New York Comic Con is the first week of October! I'm pretty excited because I want to coordinate going this year. It's been a crazy ass time since i moved to NYC in 2009 and I've only been to NYCC once. One damn time! And it was fun, but I want to go again to make the best experience. To preface, I grew up in San Diego and had the opportunity to go to SDCC every single year, each day of the con, since I was like... in elementary school. When I moved to the east coast, I miss it every summer. It breaks my little nerd heart to not be able to run around in costume for the miles and miles of booths displaying awesome shit. New York Comic Con is much smaller, but it's the closest I can get until I have enough money to make a trip to visit home (which I haven't been able to do in 3 years).
This year I'm going to prepare my costume and not wait until the last minute... which is what I always say, but I do it anyways because I'm a huge procrastinator. I'm planning to dress up as Morrigan Aensland from Darkstalkers
The costume itself isn't going to take much aside from constructing the wings - which i hope to start making soon. The body suit and tights I can order online and modify to my liking. I'm also starting to transition my hair towards a more blue/teal color again! I was thinking of starting a gofundme or selling instax prints in order to help with the expenses. So, keep watch for that soon. Once I figure out how much things will cost, I'll set up my etsy store and anything purchased will go towards the costume.
Otherwise, I got a new tattoo! Which is pretty damn cool. Jason June from Three Kings Tattoo designed it for me basically as an extension of the lotus I had sitting on my shoulder. I told him a very general idea and told him I wanted it to be in the style of John Dyer Baizley - so sort of a modern art nouveau with macabre details. It's beautiful and I'm so excited to have it colored soon.
And now, I guess I can post some selfie pictures from the last few weeks:
P.S.
My set "Cold and Quiet Paradise" shot by Alissa is still in MR and needs some lovin
I'm going to be contacting Sunshine about the set we shot in Fire Island soon, so maybe I'll have an estimated date for that.
