i have almost read it cover to cover and it's chalk full of awesome stuff. info and history about the meaning of traditional tattoos (like what the anchor, swallow birds and spiderweb tattoos mean). plus mini bios about some of the original tattoo artists like sailor jerry, bert grimm and doc forbes.

i have been looking at an apartment everyday so far. i think i might have found the place the only big con is that it is in a basement, but it's roomy enough and $150 cheaper then the other places i have seen. so i think i might just take it and see how it goes.

i got it for my dad. he has been in construction forever hence the hammer and the fact the birds have hard hats.
the tattoo was done by wes dix at tcb tattoo parlour in toronto. he is an awesome tattoo artist. he lets me drink beer while he works on me. he also did these on me feet:

ok i guess that's all for now. i'm leaving to go look at an apartment in a couple hours. it's right around the corner from where i am living now. i hope it rocks so i will know i have a place to live at the end of the month. wish me luck.

my trip to the montreal tattoo convention was lots of fun.
i wasn't able to get tattooed by kim saigh, but i didn't manage to get work done that i am very happy about. so i am going to throw in a bunch of pictures to make this a fun blog to read.

but before i show you pictures i am going to take you back in time to when i was at the halifax tattoo convention, because i don't think i posted a picture of the work that i got done while i was there. so here it is:

and now on to the montreal part.





ah the neck tattoo. painful and uncomfortable. the original plan was to have me on the bed lying down, but the other artist that was with the guy i was getting the tattoo by gave it to someone else. so i had the fun time of sitting like this for about an hour and a half. both me and the artist had fun trying to figure out the best position. his back was killing him.



this is a picture taken with a polaroid land camera. it was taken by scott g toepfer he is friends with the dude that did my tattoo. this picture could look better, but it is a picture of the picture...since my scanner isn't cooperating.



finally i get to lie down so he can get at my neck better. the tattoo took 2 hours and i spend the first 1.5 in the chair. ugh.

I have booked a hotel in Montreal for the tattoo convention that is going down in a month. I love booking with Hotwire. I have used them a bunch of times and HIGHLY recommend them. I'm paying $89 a night for a normally $120 a night room. Now i just have to figure out how i'm going to get there. I've been looking at bus tickets, but so far it's like $120 including a return. Which i guess isn't sooo bad, but there has to be something cheaper.

I also went out on a kim and e-mailed Kim Saigh since she is going to be there. I think it would be totally rad to get a piece by her, but i e-mailed her 2 days ago and i haven't heard back. So i'm not holding my breath and after the weekend i will move on to another artist to see if they can do what i'm looking to get.

today i slept in till 11:30, which is the longest i have slept in in a long time (other then being hungover or sick). Feels pretty good to not have a job right now.

ok i have lots to share so i am going to make fancy bold headlines for each part of this breaking news.

i quit my job
7 years of retail is enough to break a persons will to live. The last handful of months i was finding it really hard to go to work. when i had early morning shifts i didn't want to get up, when i had closing shifts i didn't want to go in after having a relaxing morning, i would be drained when i got home and wouldn't want to do anything. so i figured the best idea would be to up and quit. last night was my last shift and i woke up this morning feeling fantastic. i feel like this was such a great idea. i have dreams that i want to follow and a job in crappy retail is not longer going to hold me back. so...

i'm a suicide girl in the making
now that i have a lot of free time i figure oh what the hell. i contacted the modeling part of this website and told them how i had sent in a set a few years back that was turned down, but i would really like to renew my hopeful status and jump on the naked train. i am working on my model account right now (have to send SG a few other things before i shoot a set) and i'm hoping to have a set by the end of the month (not live on the site, just done and ready to go). i'm really excited about this.

with my other free time i'm picking up my camera and going to photograph tattoos and people being tattooed. i'm going to make a website to have all my stuff on. i'm going to be looking for people in Toronto who would volunteer to let me photograph them getting tattooed and give them a little interview about what the tattoo is, why they are getting it ect. then post the pictures and their story on my website. i will also have all my tattoos and shit on there and blog there. i'm really fuckin stoaked about this. my friend chris is an amazing graphic designer and has offered to help me design the site. once it's live i will be posting the link so you guys can check it out.

let's go somewhere! i have plans to go to the montreal tattoo convention in sept and maybe hang out in ottawa for a bit too. i just got back form ottawa about 2 weeks ago and had a fucking blast! i will still be living in Toronto, don't think i won't be coming back! Las Vegas and Hollywood are both highlighted on the map of places i want to get my ass to asap.

i have a lot on my fucking plate and i'm so stoaked about everything right now. i'm just hoping i can pull it all off.

my life right now is fucking fantastic. I'm living in my new place and i really couldn't ask for anything better. I'm living with these really gnarly dudes I've been getting tattooed almost weekly and i might have found my sould mate. i just finished dying his hair.
I'm at a really high point in my life right now. I'm stoaked about everything.

The Toronto tattoo convention is next week and i am going to edge fest. party it up this summer.

So i got that apartment that i went to see. Yeah it's awesome. I can pretty much walk to everywhere i like being. it's right across this huge park which will be great for the summer. My room is at the back of the house and i have my own door to come and go as i please. i love toronto.

i think i am going to paint it black.

so i'm apartment hunting. i can't afford my place on my own and i was planning on getting a place with my best friend, but she just got laid off and can't afford to move if she has no job. BALLS. so i've been looking online and i am going to go see a place tomorrow night that is located at BATHURST and DUNDAS which is a pretty rad location for those who know the city.

I feel that at 26 i'm a bit old to be moving in with roommates, but this place is month to month and i spoke with the one dude that lives there (and a chick lives there too) and he seemed pretty cool, so it might work out and the rent is $100 cheaper then what i'm paying now.

I bought gold nail polish today and i always wear black, so its a big transition and when i look at my hands i think they look funny. lol
