My Great Grandmother died a few days ago and it turns out the funeral was today. It was really no big deal. I hadn't even seen her in 3 years. She was 97 years old. The funeral wasn't that big, as most of the family (on that side of the family) is still in England. I had to help my Dad and Grandad carry the casket to the herse, which was kinda cool as I had never done that before. Then we drove out to the cemetary.

On a morbid note, I love funerals. I've had mine planed and in writing since I was 18. I think it's a really important thing to have ready to go. Here is a little look at what I want:
~No Flowers, you can bring dried flowers or balloons
~I MUST be in a coffin, NOT a casket
~I also want to be on my side in the coffin, not on my back.
I know I'm crazy, but what can I say.

Hope you're feeling OK. smile

People were talking about songs to play during your funeral in SGUK today. I haven't thought about it much yet. Though I think cremation would be good, I'd like to be scattered on my own little patch of trees, which I'd have paid to keep around or ages after.

Yep, post sucks. The last packet I sent (to Florida) took 4 days to arrive, so I hope your cake is with you soon. Otherwise, it will be pointless sending it.

sorry to hear about your great grandmother!!! frown

so you were a pallbearer then for the funeral? i was one of those for my grandpa on my dad's side...i still remember that cause i broke down crying several times, im not a fan of funerals especially of people that i'm super close to like family.

call me a wuss i guess!!!

i dont plan on planning anything for my funeral cause i rather just not know about it, im not morbid at all! however, i would kinda like to know who all would come to my funeral when i die!

I'm not going to have a funeral. I've always wanted to be cremated. My folks are the same way.

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother.

5 proper terrestrial ones, with any TV. Sometimes 1 or 2 local ones, if you have a good aerial.

I've got Digital (about 30% of the UK has) and that has ~15.

How comes?

I hate funerals so much.

All I know is that my funeral will have an open bar and a bonfire.

Something seems very wrong about having sex at my own funeral... even if it is in ghost form.
But still... if we're both dead we can have ghost sex.

But until then can we just have regular living people sex?
I'd hate to have wait until I kick the bucket.

that is pretty neat about you having all your funeral stuff done like that.

when the time comes id want to be left with all my steel in since hopefully by then ill have a decent amount of body mods.

still sucks about losing someone.

it sucked when i lost my mom's dad. that guy was great. really he was even though i hadnt seen him in a while.

that reminds me that as soon as the alzheimers vaccinne is out i gotta get it since that runs in my mom's fmaily because my mom's mom has it and that is the worst fucking disease ever. your mind dies. id kill myself if that happened to me.
