And thanks for pointing out that while I may not have accomplished what I hoped to, just surviving has been a pretty big accomplishment in itself.

You're probably right that your depression is mostly due to your health problems. They interfere with your life and that must be disheartening.

What were you hoping you'd accomplish at age 13? I hope you're not suicidal these days.

Thanks for your comment. I completely agree with you that people really should realize the extent to which they simplify other people, to the point that it causes unnecessary conflict, as well as diminished quality of communication. But, toward the end of my little piece of inanity (many of which are me just transferring thoughts directly from my brain onto paper) I was coming to the realization that it isn't really possible for the average person to remember the amount of details it takes for one to "really know" someone. I mean, I myself barely know myself. So for me to be able to even load my brain up with the details of my friends like the condiments they abhor and the little mild sexual fetishes they have to get to really know even my friends is a pretty monumental task and, were I to actually to take on this task, would detract from my ability to live my own life.

On the other hand though, I do believe that there are other ways to know people. Carl Jung called it the "collective unconscious," and to some extent, I buy into this. But mostly from an anecdotal level, and I can't really lay down examples or anything.

I should just end this now, since I have the habit of leaving ridiculously long comments.

I have not been around much. I am trying to be more consistent now with posts. It seems I have carpal tunnel and typing brings me ouch.

Ahh - so in the past week or so we've both had some Internet drama.

Chicken wings are the worst.

I love red hair, but I've never touched it. I couldn't just touch someone's hair just because of its' colour. People are really weird sometimes.
