I have made a big, big change in my life. After 21 years I have closed my new york apartment and moved to Oak Park, IL, from whence I came. It was time to go, and so far after 3 weeks I don't miss New York. It just became too difficult. It is quieter here, and Oak Park has a lot of character. I have...

I went to Meow Miix Friday night, saw two great acts, The Drive and Laura Thomas. The best thing about New York is the potential for accidental greatness. You walk into a club and expect good but sometimes you get brilliance. It's all here. I think I'm going to book The Drive into one of my Wednesday night gigs in midtown. So cool to run...

Ah yes, the Drive with the legendary firey red Eva Chavela on lead guitar! I have yet to see them live. I envy you sir... Well, mostly because you're in NYC and I'm not.
I lived there 1993-1999 and intend to move back before too long. So did you book them yet?

whew, strange day. uptown and back, worrisome news about health, then work at home. Thinking of buying a telecaster kit, lots of online parts suppliers found via google search. landed a gig for supertones march 19th in nyc. must find more bands! will try gollygee records for recommendations.
Tonight's my Supertone gig at Tripple Inn on 54th. I think I have one or two go-go dancers showing up to amuse themselves and the crowd with surf-inspired dance baby...
I was supposed to get a couple more dancers but I got a bit lazy and asking friends "hey do you want to be a go-go dancer" can be a bit delicate.

Hey NS.
No need to thank me, really. I thought that was an interesting post.
I'm surprised at the lack of responses, too.
That gig sounds pretty cool. Wish I could've gone.
There are very few things in this world better than go-go dancers.

The tension rises with my gig next week. SSO many things: posters, flyers, logistics, all for one night. Well the band is tight and ready. Also I found out I'm going to Nice in two weeks, so that's pretty cool but will require a lot of organizing. It's my first client for my new consultig business.
Three shots at making money today and all before 10:00 AM (yawn). I got a second friend to loan me her e-mail list for my Feb 12 NYC surf/twang/surfabilly band the Supertones. I need some go-go girls for that night too.
Everything is coming along bit by bit. I don't see cover bands very often, but I do go see "the Bassinetts" gigs once a...

I'm going to post my NYC gig in the calendar. I hope that I am not violating protocol, but if I am then please tell me nicely.
My car is gone now.
My gf hopes we can still be friends.
And the outside temperature is 7 degrees in NYC.

I'm going to the WInter ntniques show at the Park avenue armory (66th and Park, NYC). That will be my major entertainment for this weekend. Plus I am reading "Gangs of New York," a book I have owned for a few years but apparntly not read. I was surprised that it was written in 1927. It's much more of a social History than the recent...

but the bible won't say 'the earth will end on tuesday'. the example i gave was just werds arising from patterns that don't necessarily make any sense, they happen to be relevant to our history, however, if it were in the future, and we had not yet experienced it, it wouldn't mean anything to us. i don't understand what it is they'd be looking for.
Well I did it, I sold my car of 7 years. I can't afford a car in NYC anymore, not at least until I find a new way of making money. I got less than I thought it was worth, but at least the monthly expenses are gone.
But good news comes, I got the green light to produce my first music night at a...

Saw the movie "Solaris" last night at the wonderous Ziegfield Theater in NYC. Great movie, great vision, great sound, great idea. [Sunn built a guitar amp in the late 60's called Solaris.] Received another e-mail from my Porsche ad, so I'm dressing up my description and sending out several pictures. When you have no job, you can not keep your car, especially when you live...

No rain today, just a chill. I need to find a new hair stylist and I can't pay $80 anymore, at least not until I find a job. I just love sending resumes into black holes. Monster demon sends open positions, I spend about an hour studying their website for their often pitiful designs on the market, tweak my resume to match those skills, e-mail...

Cold rain, noisy against the tin cooling pipes behind all the restaurants. I have a new 72 story high rise behind me, it took my daylight as I suspected but it also channels wind from the west back toward me and after 20 years of stagnent air I have a breeze all the time. I raise and lower a window to control my apartment temperature....
